“Norton Cottage. Just what we needed.”

Thank you for a wonderful week at West Hollowcombe Farm.
The location was fantastic with great views from the farm. It was a bitterly cold week when we were there, so the Peter, the owner, ensured that the fire was kept going whilst we were out sight seeing. If we go back to Exmoor, we would certainly consider staying at West Hollowcombe Farm again. The farm is in a prime location for anyone who loves walking from the doorstep without getting in the car to drive anywhere. As Norton was the end cottage, it certainly needed the fire going all the time when the weather was cold.

We stayed at West Hollowcombe last October (2012) and can thoroughly recommend it. The cottage we stayed in was fantastic and the welcome from Peter and Irene was superb; particularly the scones and clotted cream awaiting us when we arrived! The location is a little more out of the way than other cottages we've stayed at but that only adds to the charm as far as we were concerned and the kids loved it just as much as we did. If you're looking for somewhere on Exmoor your search is over!

Our family took over Smiddy, Kiri and Jasper, and had a very enjoyable week. The weather was bitterly cold so Peter's offer of stoking the log burners during the day when we were out was gladly accepted. The cottages were warm, exceptionally clean and welcoming; the hospitality was second to none and we would all love to stay again to celebrate even bigger birthdays.

We spent a most enjoyable week staying in Jasper. The cottage is very comfortable, spotlessly clean and well equipped. Coming home every night to a roaring fire was much appreciated and the delicious scones, jam and cream on arrival were a welcome treat. West Hollowcombe makes an ideal base for exploring beautiful Exmoor. Thank you Peter and Irene. F & J

I have lost count of the number of times we have stayed here but the standards set by Irene and Peter remain excellent. This year our cottage, Norton, had a new kitchen, and a new bedroom layout with new bedroom furniture as part of the planned update of the facilities available. The weather this year was mixed and we had sun, hail, rain, snow, fog, and frost but whatever the weather Irene and Peter went that extra yard to ensure that we were comfortable and enjoyed our stay even to stoking up the wood burning stove so that we were warm when we returned from a day out. They also catered for my son and daughter in law and six month old grandson by providing the cot, bedding and a high chair. I can wholeheartedly endorse what the other reviewers have said and will be returning with my family next year

Room Tip: It is difficult to make any suggestions as all the cottages are so comfortable with magnificent view...

We have just stayed in Kiri, 2x middle aged couples plus dog. Everything was perfect. Kiri was very well appointed and very clean. Nice. open space to walk the dog. Lovely walks from the property ,had an easy walk to Tarr Steps (and visit to the pub there).Peter had lit the wood burner so it was very warm and welcoming on our arrival and the home made scones were very tasty.
We had been recommended to visit West Hollowcoombe by our family who had stayed in November and again in January. We were not disappointed and would be happy to recommend these holiday cottages to any one.

This was our second stay at West Hollowcombe. The first being in Smiddy, and this time round in Jasper. Peter and Irene are the most hospitable of hosts and again we enjoyed the scones!! The beds are so comfy and large (a zip and link twin on both visits). Bathrooms are well appointed and clean and so are the kitchens. There is nothing better than to arrive at the cottage, and have a roaring log burner waiting for you!!! Thank you for a week of relaxation!! David, Jo & Lilly (the mad springer!!)
