We stayed at this hotel one night on our way to Utah. It was an excellent Hampton Inn -- new, easy check-in, very clean, and quiet. The breakfast was excellent and the area well maintained. When we arrived, Kristen was very helpful and put us on a quiet floor away from the tennis teams, which we very much appreciated.

Nice Hotel, great location, typical Hampton Layout.

Staff was nice, room was clean, and breakfast was great. Maid service was adequate.

Not fancy but met our needs.

Nice, clean place. Not many restaurants close but within driving distance (5-10 miles). Helpful staff; excellent breakfast

We stayed at the Hampton Inn and Suites, Gateway location when visiting family the end of August. This hotel was wonderful. The first impression was that it seemed like a newer hotel, clean with a quick and easy check-in. The rooms were fresh and clean with great beds which appeared to be new also. We are very fussy and this hotel definitely made the mark with our family. The breakfast was amazing and I don't think we have ever seen things so clean in a hotel breakfast area...they had several on staff working the breakfast shift. The only problem we had was our television wasn't receiving station signal the first night, but they got right on the problem and had it fixed right away in the morning. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in this area...best bet from what several other family members said who were staying dispursed thoughout Pueblo in other hotels. GREAT FIND!!!

Returned today from a 2 night stay here. Wanted to stay at the Marriott, but it was booked. Hotel is right off Highway 25, easy off and on, on the south side of town. Not much within walking distance, just another motel, a few gas stations w/convenience stores, and a Pizza Hut/Taco Bell. When we arrived we checked in and went up to our room on the 5th floor. We never entered it, as we noticed a glaring problem. The peephole hardware and glass had been removed and there was a big, bare hole in the door! I could look right in and see everyhing in the room. We went back downstairs and told the front desk person of the problem. She said there was no one who could fix the problem on site (it was about 4 pm on a weekday) but she could have housekeeping put tape over it. I mentioned that the hole was so large I could put my finger or a pencil through it and punch out any tape over the hole, so that was not going to work. She then said the hotel was full w/a HS track meet in town and perhaps she could arrange a room at the next door Microtel. I suggested she swap our room w/a person who had not yet checked in--perhaps someone with a reservation for the night might not show. She said there were no such rooms. We looked at the nearly empty parking lot and the empty lobby... My husband then suggested we call the Hilton Diamond Help # (he is a Diamond level member) and see what they might suggest. She then was able to find a room for us on the same floor, with an intact peephole. The remainder of the stay was generally unremarkable. The breakfast buffet was standard. I always avoid the muffins, bagels, and bread after I see a few children handle them and put them back on the tray. I feel safer just stcking with coffee, containers of yogurt, a banana, some oatmeal I make from a packet, etc. There were quite a few young kids staying there, handling the buffet food, so this applied to this stay. I also noticed that the trash cans at the entrances to the property were overflowing when we arrived and after our 2 night stay, were overflowing onto the ground, grass, sidewalk, etc. When we arrived there was food and trash on the elevator floors. It remained there during the entire stay, and more was added daily. Of note, when we checked out, after our 2 night stay, I walked by the room we were originally assigned. The peephole was still unrepaired, and the room had not been entered. How did I know this? I was curious to see how they would handle the situation--and if the hotel was really so full. So-- I placed a toothpick sliver in the slot where the keycard would go (I learned this from someone who has to know these kinds of things for their job). It would be pushed right out when a card was inserted. After 2 nights, it was still there.
