Grounds are clean with areas to walk. Great fenced dog run area, but dogs are also allowed everywhere else on the property on a leash.
Large deck with a clean hot tub. No restrictions on the hours of use-so you can sit under the stars with a glass of wine.
Breakfast served not too early and was good, but not great. We would stay again :)

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I am glad you enjoyed the hot tub and hopefully the stars were out as well. Our breakfasts use locally sourced items from our farm and greenhouse and thus are very healthy. Sometimes that may not be your cup of tea -but we certainly try to get a bit of everything out for everyone -from fresh yogurt, eggs, cinnamon rolls, espresso drinks, fruits, juices, and meats such as sausages and bacon. It can be a challenge to serve something that everyone enjoys - esp. with all the dietary restrictions these days. And, not being a restaurant -it is always the odd chance that you will get something that you would not have otherwise ordered if you were at a restaurant. Ya know what I mean? Next time, just ask us if you would like something different!! Please know you are welcome back any time!

Thank you so much. We had such a great time and our little furr kid so enjoyed playing with Sooki, exploring the inn, running in your big dog run and walking the property. She was very intrigued by the goats but knew enough to stay back. We enjoyed the time to power down.

We loved having you and your pooch here to share in our beautiful property with dog-areas and dog friendly environment. Glad you were able to rest and
"power down"... Living on this little farm is so peaceful it is hard to remember all that high stress corporate mentality that we came from...we try to de-stress as much as possible here.

Very casual place that is very dog friendly. Gina is very welcoming. If you want to get involved with the goats or chickens, just ask and she will show you life on her farm. Her son Derrick was great and very responsible. Everything was very clean, especially considering there are 2 resident dogs that live here. I'd skip the cheesemaking class since you can get all this information online, and there is a lot of waiting around.

Room Tip: Stayed in Princeton Room that has a north window that can hear the road. I would try the Shavano Ro...

Thank you for sharing your kind thoughts on Trip Advisor.I am sorry if you were under the impression that cheese making is a quick experience - we try to get as much into 2-3 hours of class as possible - which is really hard considering cheese making by nature, takes lots of time. Luckily we didn't do a 6 month aged cheddar! I like to make sure we can do a fresh cheese that the guest can take home. This will vary depending on the amount of time the guest has here at the lodge. Anyhow, please know we are here for your if you need any more information about cheese making.

A beautiful respite right outside of Salida. We've been back three times already and loved it so much we are going back again in September. Gina is a great hostess and an even better cook! Her breakfasts are delicious!

We're not sure where Jim stayed Mother's Day weekend, but we would have to say that our experience matched Shawn's. We traveled with our dog and all of us had a fantastic time, meeting other guests, the goats - even saw a newborn goat Mother's Day morning. The food both mornings of our stay was fantastic. Coffee was made for us to just start the pot when we got up early in the morning. Spending several hours talking with Derrick was so enjoyable. Gina and D'Arcy's son is a gem. We have already recommended this inn to friends who like to travel with their pets.

Room Tip: We stayed in Antero, highway noise was no issue. All rooms upstairs are similar and any would be gre...

Thank you for writing a review and also recommending us to your friends. I really try to share my little farm with everyone and hopefully my passion for the animals and the environment are obvious. We love our espresso machine and love sharing our local coffee, produce and dairy products with our guests. Hope you get back to Salida soon as we had lots of good talks together!
