Wow what a beautiful boutique hotel. The work that has been put in to this hotel is truely amazing. This is one of the best boutique hotels we've stayed in. The personal touches from the china in the right era, to the amazing staircase and the light continental breakfast in the morning make this an art that is sometimes lost in the hussle and bustle of the crazy world we all live in. They are situated right by the Arkansas River in the heart of a town that is warm and welcoming. Close to great restaurants, bars, ice cream shops, art gallerys, and a grocery store, in case you want to cook in your full kitchen. The locals are more than willing to share the history of their town and are very warm and friendly. We highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: 3rd floor corner suite has view of mountain and park.

Everything the other 5 star reviews have written is true, and then some. Location - great. Furnishings - better than first rate; antique, classy. Roominess - all rooms are suites (this was a 44 room hotel that spent part of its life as a dive, then was renovated to a 14 room luxury all suite hotel). Kitchen facilities - EVERYTHING you need, including enough coffee for a full size pot. Price - reasonable ($130 + tax for our room; larger suites cost a bit more). Beds - ahhh.
Service - spectacular. Continental breakfast - placed at landings, includes fresh fruit, yogurt. We will definitely stay here again should we travel through Salida. My only concern - this place is so great, I think they could easily raise the price and put it out of our range!

This is a wonderful hotel that is beautifully appointed. The rooms are generous in size and are more like suites, rather than hotel rooms. The ceilings are high, and the rooms that face the street have wall to wall, very tall, windows, including the kitchen, that face the park across the street. The kitchens have a full compliment of dinner ware, cookware, etc. Morning coffee at the small kitchen table, overlooking the street and park, enjoying a breakfast that you can make yourself, or indulge in the generous "continental type" complimentary offering put out each morning, is a wonderful way to start the day. The staff and the owners, especially, are very helpful, and quite friendly. One of the nicer hotel rooms I've had the pleasure to spend some time in, especially for the price. I've already booked a room for a follow up stay. This hotel is a gem.

Room Tip: Any room will do. The rooms on the east side, that overlook the street and the park across the stree...

We highly recommend this newly renovated hotel with its art gallery/lobby. Great location in Salida with easy access to the river walk. The staff is very helpful and friendly. We had a wonderful little suite complete with sitting room and small kitchen. The kitchen is great - stovetop/ oven and microwave and refrigerator - with good pots and pans and utensils. We enjoyed cooking a couple of meals in the room. Comfortable bed. Be aware: no elevator. 27 steps up to the 2nd floor (but who's counting?) Thanks, Vickie and Fred. It was a great place to celebrate a special birthday.

Room Tip: All 14 rooms are different and unique.

I spent last weekend at the newly renovated Palace and was pleased with the beauty, value and comfort of the hotel. The Hotel is located 2 blocks from the river, across the street one of Salida's beautiful parks and within walking distance to good restaurants, bars, galleries and stores. Each room is a suite with comfortable couches and brand new kitchens. I can see myself happy to come back again and again.

We were fortunate to discover this little gem of a hotel. WOW! The renevations at this hotel were magnificant. Beautifully appointed rooms for a reasonable price. Walking distance to everything, warm convenient rooms with a the right blend of history and modern conveniences. We'd highly recommend checking out this hotel and the gallery of beautiful art! Thanks Fred for the hospitality; we hope to be back!!

Room Tip: All rooms are beautiful; quiet so go ahead and choose a room overlooking the park.
