We've been staying at the Woodland Motel for about 5 years; just stayed there about 10 days ago. All the staff -- from the desk to housekeeping -- has always greeted our dog with a "welcome" dog biscuit to a pat on the head. We (the “people” guests) were treated with the same warmth and congeniality, too (“sans” dog biscuit, however!). Rooms are immaculate (this coming from a "white-glove" fanatic) and include more amenities than most hotels/motels in a comparable price range. The location is great, too -- within easy walking distance to a wonderful river trail on the Arkansas River or to the historic (and eclectic!) area of Salida. We’ll continue going there as long as they’re open -- absolutely the best in the Salida/Buena Vista area.
