Thanx so much for you nice review. It is always a please having nice people visit with un and we all loo forward to your next visit.
We've stayed in Salida many times because we enjoy the nearby hotsprings. We like to try out different places to stay until we find the very best value. We found it at the Salida Inn and Monarch Suites. This place had brand new rooms which we were upgraded into for no cost due to the availability of the room. The entire property was very clean and well maintained. Mike was friendly and helpful and the prices were very reasonable, I mean seriously, when was the last time you spent less than $80.00 on a place you weren't afraid of in some way or another. We will be staying here in the future, we're glad to have found this place.
Well, Hello Wkndwarriors
Thanx so much for the really nice review. It is greatly appreciated. We try our best to make our guests happy both before they arrive by keeping everything up to date and after they arrive by meeting their needs.
I am fairly certain I know which guest you are and if I am right, you and your family have been here multiple times over the last few months. When guests continually stay with us, I figure they deserve the best we have, so if an upgraded room is available, we will gladly give it to them.
This hotel is a perfectly fine and clean place to stay overnight. There are some exceptions. The WiFi was not functional at all. If I had stayed more than one night I would have complained. The "continental breakfast" consisted of little more than bagels and coffee. I'm sorry but if I'm spending $100+ per night, I think they could do better.
Thanx for the review and I am sorry you had less than a stelar experience. I am truly surprised to hear that our WiFi was "Not Functional at all" because since we completely upgraded the WiFi in the entire property last June, we haven't had a single complaint. Don't misunderstand though, Salida is a small town in the middle of the Rocky Mountains and is subject to short power surges from time to time which in turn knocks out our computer system which controls our wifi. When that happens, guests alert us, we reset the system and everything is fine.
As for the breakfast, you say it is "little more than Bagels & Coffee". You must have missed the 3 different kinds of bagels, the 2 different types of cereal, the Oatmeal, the Yogurt, the muffins and the fresh fruit. As for the price of the room, I can't tell what type of room you had, but I can tell you that you would be hard pressed to find a completely remodeled room including new Pillow Top Mattresses, New Linens, new Furniture and Carpet etc etc, for less.
Once again, thanx for the review. If you decide to give us another try, please stop and say hi and of course, let us know if you have any problems with wifi or anything else for that matter.
The rooms have been newly renovated and are clean and quiet. The internet is stable and staff was acommodating, available and friendly. The continental breakfast was a nice touch. Downtown Salida is only a mile away and was a pleasant and safe bike ride with a trail head close by the Walmart which takes you directly to the Riverwalk. The hot tub and pool were clean and maintained. We booked our stay for Memorial Day Weekend and we liked it so much that we booked an extra day. Next time we will check out the new cabins/suites for an extended stay for a ski weekend.
Thanx so much for the really nice review. Everyone here at Salida Inn thanks you also. It was a pleasure having you as our guest.
My family and I stayed there in March for the Run Through Time 2014 Marathon. I called to reserve a room well in advance and spoke to Mike who gave great details on all the rooms available and what might be the best option as I was travelling with small kids. When we arrived he let me know that the room that I had booked, was actually double booked and unavailable. Thankfully he put us up in another room for no charge at all. He even provided a room for me to shower in the next day after the race as it was beyond the normal late checkout time and we were leaving that day. The rooms were well furnished and very clean and the hotel is only a short drive from the downtown area. A great place to stay in Salida.
Thanx for that really nice review and sorry again for the mess up on the room. Thats the first time that ever happened to us. I've read that most hotels in that situation will move a guest to a different room but still charge for the night. It has always been my philosophy to treat people that way I would like to be treated and I believe in "step-in up" so to speak when the error is mine.
I am glad you enjoyed your stay.
We stayed here while skiing Monarch in March 2014, and while they are in the middle of a remodeling project, the staff and even construction workers were polite and helpful. No odd hour construction work/noise. Rooms are clean and up-to-date. The Inn is located right on the main street through town so getting there is easy.
Thanx for that nice review. As you said, we are in fact remodeling and thankfully down to our final phase and last 3 cottages. I asked my contractors to work around my guests. The minute they see a guest check in, they stop working with hammers and saws and start painting and they always wait until our guests are either gone for the day or checked out.
I am glad you noticed.
