We were looking for a place to have lunch after a morning of sightseeing. A local told us about this restaurant, and said it was ok. The food was just that. . Ok. I had a buffalo burger. It was overcooked and served on a cheap grocery store bun. The rings were so so. However, sweet potato fries were really tasty.

The atmophere was fun and engaging. There was so much to look at, read, etc. The service was outstanding. The restrooms were singles, so there was a long wait. We finally gave up.

A local told us that Silverton wasn't known for the food . . .I would agree,, but the atmophere was priceless.

Several people from the area told us to eat here when driving in from 4-wheeling in the morning. The restaurant is pretty small and can get packed when the train comes in from Durango so get there before then. Their salads are very large and tasty as well as their hamburgers but honestly I'm not sure where the 'hype' is for a 'must go to' restaurant. However, if you want a guaranteed typical American fare place, then this is the place for you. If you want more of a different selection, visit one of the others.

Cute place with a homey atmosphere. Service was fine, very friendly. Food was very average and there were only 3 beers on tap. There was also an 18% gratuity added for parties over six, or if you wanted your bill split up. The experience was fine, just nothing spectacular.

We came across the mountains by jeep from Lake City. Beautiful Trip. We got to the restaurant just before the train arrived. This is a family owned and run restaurant. The staff was great, as was the hamburger. They have many choices, and mine arrived just as I had ordered it with delicious onion rings. They have great local cold beer too!

We'd been told this was the place to eat in Silverton by 2-3 folks earlier in the day, so we decided on it for dinner. Food was very good (caution: some portions are BIG) and service was solid. The atmosphere is excellent and the place really did seem to be the place everyone went to (we even saw our tour guide from earlier in the day there). Enjoyed it.
