The staff were all very friendly. It's not a high end hotel and it's an excellent value, very clean and comfortable. The grounds are well kept. There is a shuttle into Aspen which is great because parking in Aspen is challenging. The beds were very comfortable and I'm very picky. The breakfast was good but not many healthy options most of the guests seemed pleased with it I'm kind of an organic nut which is not to cost effective for a lodge like this one, but overall it was a fine experience

Room Tip: In mid june we had a room overlooking the pool the second night and the first we faced the road whic...

The hotel would have been fine except for the terrible bed. It was a Murphy bed - that was the main bed - and it was so hard and uncomfortable neither one of us slept all night. If you like hard beds, this place is for you. It was inexpensive, with a mediocre continental breakfast. The pool was lovely. There is no elevator so you will probably have stairs, and the parking lot is across the street, so prepare to carry your stuff. The room was okay - nice chairs and a desk and couch, with a lovely balcony. There is a small refrigerator and a very small bathroom. The shower was fine. There is free internet. No air conditioning.

We stumbled upon the Pokolodi Lodge, purely by accident, as my husband and I were on a 5 day tour of scenic Colorado. We had intended on spending the night in Gunnison, but a local suggested we take Independence Pass towards Aspen. The ride was amazing, but when we arrived in Aspen, we discovered that most of the area hotels were full. We were lucky to find a room at the Pokolodi Lodge. The staff greeted us as though we were neighbors, and the Office Manager Joe Jordan went out of his way to accommodate us and our motorcycles. The room was quite spacious and the bed was very comfortable.

Good value in the Summer. Rate was $69 plus tax for our end of May stay. Only a few minutes to Aspen & Ghost Town of Ashcroft. Good staff, nice pool and spa. Big beds, clean rooms. Lots of peace and quiet before the start of the Summer season.Great views.

Room Tip: We stayed in 403 facing the pool.

We stayed at the Pokolodi Lodge two times in the winter of 2013: for a week in February, and 12 nights in March/April. The location is perfect. Right across the street is the Snowmass Mall (shops, restaurants, lift ticket office), and the ski hill is 300 steps away. For what you pay for a night's lodging, the value is as good as it gets. The most important feature is that the Pokolodi Lodge is very clean. The staff appears very dedicated to maintaining the facilities. We stayed in different rooms for each trip, and we enjoyed a comfortable king size bed each time (two queen size beds are available also). There is excellent daily maid service, excellent TV, large hot tub with adjacent large pool, adequate daily breakfast, large dresser to store your clothes, ski locker or ski rack with drip tray, dorm size refrigerator, in room coffee maker and WIFI. There is a movie style popcorn machine in the lobby, which the staff is willing to pop a fresh batch for you. In February we stayed on the street side on the first floor. It had sliding glass doors to a private patio. This lodge has green space all around it, and so the views out your windows are pleasant. You are not looking at the windows of the hotel next door. That is not always the case in a resort area. In March, our room was on the 4th floor overlooking the pool and hot tub. We spoke with other guests during breakfast, and found that many were repeat customers. Now we are also.

There are only two drawbacks in my opinion, there is no elevator, and the tub/commode room was small for the room on our second visit. But understand, the main entrance is on the 4th floor, and there is a second entrance on the 1st floor. So lugguge only needs to be carried for two floors, not all 4 floors. (The pool/hot tub is located on the 2nd floor.) Inspite of these two drawbacks, we will stay at the Pokolodi on our next trip to Snowmass.

I stay here every year and they are nicely staffed with friendly helpful folks. They have cheerfully supported a veterans event here for as long as I can remember. Outdoor heated pool and hot tub make for great apris atmosphere.

I came here with a group of 29...arrangements were made by our trip organization. i found the rooms clean, relatively well appointed and comfortable. (Some of us a bit of a challenge with the heat (rooms wee quite warm) and the shower...plenty of hot water though). The location was great; just steps from the Snowmass Upper Village (the Mall) and the slopes. We enjoyed many afternoons in the outdoor hot tub and heated pool.

When our group was snowed in (no disappointment at all!), Dave and our trip leader worked feverishly to accomodate us (and/or find accomodations) and was very instrumental in smoothing out the many difficulties. Thanks Dave!

Room Tip: Ideally get a room on level 2 in order to be on the same level as the pool.
