I stayed at the Westin for MLK weekend in 2013. The place has been very nicely renovated and the rooms use the right mix of modern features and more traditional wood. The location is also awesome and you just have to get out of the hotel to be on the slopes. You can also get to snowmass mall very easily to grab some food. The hotel is very big and we got a room on the back end - which happened to be slightly smaller than the others and did not have any view. We had to take two very slow elevators to get there, which burnt a lot of time. Definitely not convenient.
We did not have dinner at the hotel but enjoyed the breakfast buffet a lot. The omelette bar was definitely great. The only complaint here is around service. Most waiters did not really pay attention to us which led to fairly lengthy breakfast. As was mentioned in other reviews, they still need to iron out a lot of the kinks in the service. For example, it took them 30 minutes to find my girlfriend's skis back. They had put them in the rack for another room. Similarly, we are both platinums are asked for a late checkout. However we were denied with no apologies or explanation.
Overall a good stay but the hotel could do better in service and platinum recognition.More
