“Always a Treat”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 July 2014

Every time my family visits Colorado we always go out of our way to stop here. Lunch doesn't start until 11, but even if you're a little early you can still stop in and see the John Wayne room, which is very neat. If you're lucky they might offer you some pecan rolls for breakfast if you're on the road. This is a great place for families because it's owned by a great family. We always have a little conversation with the legendary "Pops" who owns the place, and is one of the sweetest people you'll ever meet. This is a place that you will come back to for years whenever you're in the area. It is definitely worth it.

“Never Blue at Blue Creek Lodge”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 July 2014 via mobile

It is always a treat to stay here on our travels to South Fork Co. We have camped, stayed in cabins here and been up and down most of Hwy 149. We look forward to rest, visit, and stay here with our friends the Philberns. This is a place like home. From the cabins to the restaurant you cannot go wrong. Be sure to book early and unwind. There are decades of history and photographs at this quaint little resort and you will probably run into someone you know and definitely someone you will want to meet.

“Gem in the road”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 July 2014

You're driving along Hwy 149 to Creede and you're hungry. At the bend in the road, you see the Blue Creek Lodge. Take my advice ... stop. You'll find good food (and drink), a fun gift shop and old hair salon with hair/shaving tools of the past, a John Wayne room (okay, you might think 'cheesy,' but it is actually pretty cool, the BEST pies I've had in years (I even ate the crust) and great service from whoever waits on you at this family-owned restaurant (Olivia was my favorite). If you're really lucky, you'll meet 'Pops' ... he owns the place. You simply don't find places like this as much any more. Like I said ... make the stop!

“Feel right at home here!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 July 2014

What a great place to eat. You feel right at home when you walk in the door. Be seated and take a look at the menu. After you order, get up and go to the gift shop or wander off to the John Wayne room to look around. Off from the gift shop are the remains of the old beauty parlor including an Old Helene Curtis electric roller contraption that you MUST see!!!!! My steak and salad was excellent and the fudge pie is so rich that you need to split it with somebody!!! An excellent choice for dinner or just dessert!

“Awesome mountain getaway!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 July 2014 via mobile

The owners were the sweetest! We booked in advance- a smaller cabin, we were trying to be thrifty. After they met us, they insisted on upgrading us to a bigger cabin at no charge! Great people- beautiful views-stellar accommodations! We loved every minute of our stay!
