They must've made a mistake when they wrote "real" Mexican food on their sign. This place has clearly forgotten what real Mexican food tastes like along their journey to Colorado. I'm from Texas and I know the Mexican food is going to be better there, but I was so dissatisfied I felt the need to write about it. We ordered two strawberry margaritas that tasted extremely watered down. The salsa was very liquidy and chunky because they do not blend their salsa. Tasted more like cut up veggies in tomato sauce. Their rice was so gross tasting and tasted like it had been out for hours. Enchilada sauce tasted kind of like a smokey BBQ sauce. Nachos looked unappealing and looked like someone slapped them together in two seconds. I have nothing good to say besides the service was good. Despite what others say on here, this is not the place for good Mexican food or drinks. After this place, we didn't bother trying any other places in Steamboat out of fear of more gross Mexican food and waste of our money. It was $40 for two of us with two small margaritas.

We called ahead to reserve a table for our party of ten last night (a Tuesday) and told the hostess what time we would arrive. When we got there (on time), another party of ten, as well as several other diners, were waiting for seats. The woman at the hostess stand, who spoke little to no English, was completely confused and couldn't keep track of who needed a table, even though she was trying to keep a list. The lobbywhere all of us tried to wait was tiny and included the only entrance/exit for the restaurant, so it was ridiculously crowded. After nearly 30 minutes, the hostess seated the other group of ten, even though our name was ahead of theirs on her "list". When my mom pointed this out after that party was seated, and asked when our table might be ready, the only response was "just a moment" and a lost look.

When a restaurant makes arrangements with you to arrive at a certain time, whether as a reservation or call-ahead seating, you shouldn't have to wait over 30 minutes for a table. The hungry children with us could wait no longer, so we left.

This place: epic fail.

Returned to this restaurant only to be reminded that they serve fairly average cheap Mexican grub. Server dropped off pitcher of water and empty cups on the table, would not even pour the water and there was only one more table occupied in the whole restaurant. Empty restaurant, was that a hint? The food was NOT edible, salty and very unappealing on the plate. Took just one bite and left rest the food on the plate. The waiter never asked if food was OK, I had to go to the bar area to ask for a check.

We come back for the food but hands down they have the best Margarita ever!!! Made with fresh limes!!! Most of the items come with chicken, shredded beef or ground beef. We usually mix it up, I suggest the shredded beef over ground, its got a wonderful flavor.

We come to steamboat 3 x's a year and have tried almost all the restaurants in the town. The service was fast but very average food. I have come to the consensus that a lot of places can't keep the quality up on the weekends. There were resort busses full of people waiting on a Friday night. Maybe a weekday would be better.
