The location is *great*. A nice, cruising green slope was 20 feet from the condo so skiing in was perfect. Skiing out was nice also... you could put your skis on and ski down to the lifts and gondola.
The rooms were dated WRT furnishings. Not a big deal to me, but just FYI.
The bus system at Steamboat was quite confusing. Each resort had its own bus within the mountain area. And at times the busses switched to downtown service. There were also city bus route access at the ski village. I think we finally figured out to use the resort shuttle on the mountain and use the city bus to travel downtown. Regardless, it was confusing compared to Winter Park which has a ton of generic busses running for all resorts as well as downtown.
There are grocery stores downtown, but there is also a quite nice little market called Market on the Mountain (past the gondola going away from the ski lifts, but easy walking distance) that had everything we needed... groceries and snacks as well as alcohol.
