“Great Resort close to slopes - love Bear Lodge”
Reviewed 14 March 2012

We stayed in Bear Lodge - the newest of the Trappeur's buildings - it is excellent - great location - great amentities. Don't forget to go to the Happy Hour parties on Mon & Fri. Skiing was excellent - plenty of snow in February. Heard that March is good too. Conceirge Shuttle services is wonderful to have available. Walk or shuttle to slopes. You really don't need a car in winter.

Room Tip: The 1 bedroom units in Bear Lodge have a nice little patio & bbq. Perfect for couples.

Recently stayed four nights in a one bedroom unit in the Timberline Lodge. Starting with an easy, friendly check-in, the place could not have fit our needs better. Shuttles to Gondola Sq. leave every 15 minutes all day and the public areas offer multiple hot tubs and a heated indoor/outdoor pool. The lodge public area has online access and beverages. The unit was beautifully decorated and completely outfitted. Even the queen pull out bed in the living room was quite comfortable! This is a top notch place!!

Room Tip: Stay on an upper floor (3 or 4) if you want a good mountain view.

We just completed a weeklong stay at the Champagne Lodge. Our first trip to Steamboat and also out west as we're from the east coast. Room was fantastic, people super nice, excellent facilities like hot tub and pool right there. Twice weekly (mon and fri) happy hour parties for guests. Only bad thing was that housekeeping left the patio door, open one day which was pretty bad as we were on the first floor! Nothing taken, but cut the tip by more than half. Aside from that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay with our three kids and will definitely stay here again when we return to Steamboat! Highly recommended.

This resort offers everything you need to be comfortable ... a home away from home. The amenities are superior, the living spaces are exceptionally clean, and the staff is friendly. The location is very convenient and several shuttle vans run constantly to the ski base or you can call the desk for a free ride to town or wherever you want to go. The heated basement for parking with secure access is great. Free drinks and snacks are available at the evening apres ski reception, and the multiple pools and hot tubs are hard to beat. You won't be disappointed here.

Room Tip: The Emerald and Bear Lodges are the newer sections of the resort.

We just returned home from our vacation in Steamboat and we enjoyed our stay at Trappers Lodge. It was our second year in a row to stay in the same condo unit #1111. The condo was large enough to sleep 10 people comfortably with out the need for a pull out couch.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, offering their recommendations when we needed places to eat dinner and shop. The property offers complimentary shuttle service to local shops and to the gondola. They also have a great happy hour with wonderful food and live music to cap a long day on the mountain. Beer and wine served with heavy hors d'oeuvres, definitely a must do while you are visiting.

We'll be back for sure! And cant wait to visit during the spring time to see what Steamboat has to offer during that season.

Room Tip: Rooms on the bottom floor offer convenient walkways to and from the pool area and office where the h...

Spacious two room suite, friendly service, daily drinks reception, cookies for the kids and great pool and hot tub.   Not in the centre of the resort, but on call shuttle, so not a problem.  Great property, great skiing, though the ski resort itself is a little souless in the evening.
