“More fun than should be allowed!”
Reviewed 26 March 2013

On top of the fantastic skiing we had last week, we were VERY pleased with our stay at Timberline 2204 The place was very clean, very nice, and had everything we could have thought of ourselves. HUGE breakfast/dining room, and steps away from the indoor outdoor pool and several hot tubs, the beds were quite comfortable and the staff was excellent. Allan and Charlotte addressed any questions/concerns we had with professionalism and sheerfulness. The Monday and Friday happy hours were a great touch, and being able to stor your skis up at christy Sports saved a lot of effort hauling skis around. The price was very fair, and the discount lift passes helped save some money. I would recommend this palce to anyone and will be letting our friends know to check it out as well. thanks - we will see you again soon!

Room Tip: Try to get a room facing the pools

There are several buildings associated with Trappeur's Crossing Resort. This review is for Trappeur's Lodge. I just want to be clear about that because the other buildings may have very different accommodations. We stayed at The Lodge with another family in a 2 Bedroom, 3 Bath. The adults stayed in the bedrooms and there was an additional sleeping area with bunk bed for the kids. It worked out great as the kids had their own space. Here are the pro and conns:
Great ammenities (hot tub, pool, and indoor parking).
Good Location and Bus Service (you don't really need a car)
Free snacks and drinks at the receptions (Fri - Mon)
Full Kitchen
Ski Lockers in Lobby

And now the not so good:
Hard, noisy beds and limp pillows
"Master" bedroom #2 is tiny with no storage
Our particular unit was managed by Special Places of Steamboat which is not as well integrated with other service providers (for example the management office where you get the key is not located at the property you are staying).

Room Tip: Unit#1101 is over the automatic garage door which can be disturbing in the middle of the night.

Stayed in 3/3 in Aspen which exceeded expectations. Very good staff. Good maid service for condo development. Unit well stocked, well equipped, well maintained. Would stay here again. Nice set up for families and groups. Probably not my first choice for a couple only trip. Shuttle service is great.

My husband and I stayed at Bear Lodge this Winter with two other couples and it was amazing! The location was perfect - an easy walk to the slopes (5 minutes maybe?), a small market & liquor store next-door for quick supply runs, and really great shuttle service. We used the shuttle to/from the slopes a few times, and repeatedly to go downtown. I don't think the shuttle ever took longer than 15 minutes to arrive from the time we called. (We did tip the drivers, FYI).

The unit itself was luxurious. Very comfortable beds, flat-screen TVs, timer-controlled fireplaces, plenty of cooking utensils (though no condiments, spices, etc. - be sure to bring or purchase.) Great perks like daily housekeeping and ski/snowboard storage closets by the elevators. And the very very best part was the outdoor fireplace and hot tub. Beautiful place to sit and relax your sore muscles, and we enjoyed it daily!

Highly highly recommend Bear Lodge!

After doing some research my husband settled on this place for our stay in Steamboat with a group of friends, and it did not disappoint! Where to start? The condo was BEAUTIFUL! It comfortably slept 3 couples and a baby. It was up to date with 3 gorgeous bathrooms, Ipod connectors in each room, touch start fireplaces, and awesome patio with hot tub. We booked on ground level so our patio had an outdoor fireplace next to the hot tub. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud it was so soft - I wish I had one at home.
The resort is made of many buildings so the check in desk was not at Bear Lodge where we stayed. That same main lodge had a FREE happy hour and an indoor pool. The main outdoor pool seemed in great condition although we did not use it because we had our own hot tub. The resort also offered free shuttle service to the gondola and basically anywhere if we only called first (we did tip each time though). We used the shuttle several times to get downtown and to the grocery store and only had to wait a few minutes each time. We never had to rent a car. Although there is a free gondola shuttle we opted to walk it every day as a warm up, and it only took 5-7 minutes in full gear since it is so close. Plus as guests of Trappeur's you could store your boards/skis at Christy Sports right at the gondola FOR FREE instead of carrying it back and forth (this does not apply to boots FYI).
We only had one problem while we were there that the condo was a bit too warm and someone was there in literally under five minutes to check on the thermostat and help us out.
As a tip, the kitchen is fully stocked from a dinnerware prespective but there are no condiments, spices (besides salt and pepper) or storage bags/aluminum foil for use.
Overall we highly recommend it and Bear Lodge will be out go to lodging for future visits.

We booked our first Steamboat Ski trip at Trappeur's after reading the many glowing reviews. We were not disappointed. Arrived on a Saturday afternoon and were greeted with smiles at the front desk. Check-in was straightforward. Although they do not have a bell hop, the lodge we were in was nearby. We had reserved a one-bedroom with a den (#2210) and upon arrival we were quite pleased. The room had a Southwestern decor and a view overlooking the swimming/hot tub area. 2 Flat-Panels TVs, BluRay players and decent cable service were provided. Although we didn't plan to cook, a full kitchen is available. Room was well appointed and included a washer/dryer. Free WiFi is standard. A service that Trappeur's provides is an on-call shuttle that will take you and pick you up anywhere within the city limits up to 1030PM or so. We found this better than getting our own rental car. They also provide round-the-clock shuttle service to the ski base during lift hours. After a long day skiing, hot chocolate is waiting for you at the shuttle drop off at Trappeur's. I can't recommend this place enough. We would definitely return here.
