“Nice course”

Steamboat Springs Alpine Slide

Attraction details
Owner description: The Alpine Slide is temporarily closed..... there was a mud slide on the upper part of Howelsen Hill which shifted the lift towers. Until the towers are reattached to the bedrock, it is unsafe to operate the lift. The City is working on fixing the lift - as soon as it is safe to ride, we will re-open. Unfortunately, we do not have a set date as to when that will happen.

“Nice course”
Reviewed 21 August 2014

For a discounted $10, I thought this was worth it. Nice course, easily controlled on your sled. Great view while going up and at the top of Steamboat town and the resort and ski hill.
Look for a coupon in the local coupon booklet.

“Expensive but fun”
Reviewed 20 August 2014

The chair lift is slow but we very much enjoyed the ride up with the beautiful views and weather. The slide was fun but it's over fairly quickly. It's $12/ride so we didn't go multiple times.

“Fun as long as you are careful”
Reviewed 19 August 2014

Wild ride down the mountain, great views from the lift. Those that get hurt from my observation are those that push it really hard. Risk versus reward, right? If you just want a good ride, push the sled a bit and enjoy the way down. It's more physical than you think. Good for families - adults and middle school kids on our trip.

“Steamboat Springs Alpine Slide”
Reviewed 19 August 2014

Fun little afternoon adventure, went solo and it was a blast----haven't done it since I was a teenager (which I don't remember too well...). Very efficient process, loved the gondola ride up and the views were worth the $12. Well behaved kids and families in front of me and behind me! Would suggest for the someone that wants to see 'above' the city and have a few laughs too....

“If you have kids, make sure you stop here”
Reviewed 17 August 2014 via mobile

We have been on Alpine slides in the past and this is a good design. Definitely tell the attendant at the top of the run if you plan to go fast or slow and then you can hopefully avoid any traffic jams on the way down. Suggest for families to let kids go first to protect them from any daredevils racing down the tracks plus you can choose your speed for your run. Look for $2 off coupons (good for up to 4 tickets) in area visitor guides and magazines. Have fun!
