Owner description: Old Town Hot Springs is an historic all-natural hot spring and recreational facility in the heart of downtown Steamboat Springs. It is family friendly and has been the place for recreation and rejuvenation for visitors and locals alike for over 100 years. The swimming and soaking pools served as a gathering and bathing place for the Ute Indians who first settled in the area. Then in the late 1800s, it was a social spot and a bathing place for the early homesteaders. Old Town Hot Springs sits at an elevation of 6,700 feet and offers eight pools, including two 230-foot waterslides, a 3,000 square foot hot activity pool, an aquatic rock climbing wall, the historic Heart Spring pool, eight lap lanes, and massage. We also have a full fitness center with over 45 classes each week, including aqua fitness classes, yoga, spin, Pilates, BodyPump, Zumba, and more. It is a 501(c)3 non-profit, multi-use complex open seven days a week, year-round.

This is an interesting concept. The website and pictures make it look very big and grand when in reality it is pretty small. There were a lot of people in the springs when we were there and the pools are for the most part very small except for one and a small pool gets very crowded very fast. The price to get in is expensive for knowing that you are sitting in a pool shoulder to shoulder with a bunch of strangers and their kids splashing around you and carrying on. There is a slide for the kids to enjoy and a rock climbing wall but for the most part, you just sit around.

From the Hot Mineral Springs to the many pools available, Old Town Hot Springs is a place to relax, swim laps, exercise in the Gym or Soak in some Vitamin D on the Upper Tanning Deck !!

It’s centrally located in Steamboat Springs in walking distance to the river, food, museums & so much more !!

My family drove over to Old Town Hot Springs from Granby, CO to spend the afternoon. You are allowed to take food in, so we had coolers for snacks and light lunches. The kids (ages 8-14) enjoyed the slide. They weren't used to the warm water (since we live in the South), but they were able to use the cool water on the other side of the lap lanes. They were doing considerable construction at Old Town, but it didn't interfere with our ability to enjoy our time.

I’ll start by saying you have to ask for a senior discount. The regular price for 10 passes is $150, but if you qualify and you ASK, you can get $50 off that price. And yes, you can share your passes. We bought the passes during our condo stay in Steamboat Springs so we could use the gym upstairs. It’s not state of the art, or super new and sleek, but functional for our needs. Being able to soak in the hot mineral water after a work out was a nice bonus. The locker rooms are kind of funky and dated, but also functional. The renovation should be a nice addition to the facility. Well worth the price of admission.
