Be prepared to queue at the gondola from 4.30pm for a 5pm trip. It's popular and they only allow their capacity - you will have to wait at the bottom until someone comes down if you are too late!

It costs $12 per person but this does give you a $5 voucher for food or drink. We were probably in the first 50 people up and so got a good table outside with a view - it's a bit of a free for all so the early bird definitely catches the worm - there are plenty of people hovering in case you decide to leave, which is a little irritating, but the table behind us turned 4 x while we were there. I was happy drinking a Brain Freeze - a yummy green frozen concoction for $7 (with a Grand Marnier float for an extra $2. 16 oz bottled beer was $4. For something so popular, the prices are more than fair! We didn't eat as we were advised not to, but the food we saw looked ok but we didn't look at the menu.

We stayed for the sunset, but many don't so if you don't get up on the first go, it may be worth hanging out to go later!

We took the gondola up ($20 per adult if no lift ticket but you get $10 off the bill) and intended to eat at Hazie's but this was more casual and had less of a wait. If you want to eat at Hazie's make a reservation. Anyway, the nachos were the best we have ever had--layered with tons of toppings the whole way through, not just stuff sprinkled on top. Chili was good. Bloody Mary was also excellent! Something must have happened to our order with the timing because the manager apologized ad took an extra $10 off our bill. That doesn't happen often anymore... The view was cool--watching the snow and some skiers and snowboarders.
