The Ranch at Steamboat
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 16 September 2013

We have stayed at The Ranch condominiums at Steamboat Springs, CO many times over the years during spring break for ski vacations. Typically, we get a two or three bedroom, two bath unit.

After staying at other condos, both ski-in-ski-out and off-mountain -- The Ranch seems to have the best most accomodating system. Their shuttle will come and pick you up at anytime and also runs at 20 minute intervals. This makes getting to the gondola and back easier -- way more easy than taking pubic transportation or driving and parking in the public lot way down below the lift area.

The ranch also has a nice heated outdoor pool and spa and also indoor sauna facilities, which ae great for apres-ski relaxation.

Prices are the best in Steamboat for similar accomodations.

Condos have losts of space and the management company keeps the units current and functional with comfortable beds, spacious kitchens and nice decks.

Room Tip: Get a mountain view if you can!

We stayed in a two story, two bedroom condo at The Ranch. The condo was a perfect size for a short vacation. We had two families with young children and the space was perfect. The condo included everything we needed and was spotless. The pool and hot tub were relaxing and the kids enjoyed playing in the grassy areas outside the condo. This was a great find!

We booked our unit through Mountain Resort Reservations and were able to see exactly what we were getting. We traveled with another family and the bedroom configuration was important. On the web site they break each unit down by property, bedrooms and include photo's from the unit.

Our unit had lovely 3 bedrooms/3 full bath and 1 stall garage. It was clean, spacious, kitchen was well equipped, and we loved the 2 decks and the bedroom with 2 sets of bunk beds. The views of the mountain and valley were beautiful.

The Ranch has 2 stand alone covered hot tubs and a combo pool/hot tub.

Private on call shuttle service to/from the mountain and town was a real bonus. The shuttle wait was never more then 5 minutes during the ski season and a quick 5- 8 minute ride to/from the slopes.

The only negative thing I have to say about our stay was that the cleaning staff. They never brought clean kitchen towels, toilette paper, soap or shampoo. They also needed to show up after 10:30 when everyone was at the slopes. Not between 9-10 when we were trying to get out the door.

We would definitely recommend staying at this location.

We came at the end of March with 2 adults and three kids between the ages of 7-11. We stayed in a 2 bedroom condo. The condo was nicely furnished and well stocked. The view of the mountain from our unit was gorgeous and greatly appreciated! I loved that The Ranch was a little ways from town and the base area. Quiet and peaceful is how I would describe the location. The pool and hot tubs were very nice as well. The shuttle service was an extremely wonderful service. It took us to restaurants, grocery store, ski shop, and slopes. It picked us up from our front door and dropped us right off at our location. We never waited more than 6 minutes for our shuttle service.

We rented our ski equipment from Terry's and ate at The Canyons and Rex's. Both were good. We went to Saddleback Ranch for tubing and the kids loved it.

We would definitely stay at The Ranch again. If you want a fun, beautiful place to stay--then this is it.

Our family of four stayed in Unit 517 at "The Ranch at Steamboat" for seven nights. The condo was perfect for us! I was worried about staying away from the mountain base, but the shuttle service was amazingly prompt and picked us up right at our front door. On most occasions, the shuttle arrived within two minutes of our call for pick-up. The pool and hot tubs are conveniently located and offer beautiful views. The view from our condo was also excellent. We enjoyed watching skiers on the mountain with our binoculars. Our condo's full size washer and dryer were life-savers. The housekeeping services (trash and towels) were consistently good. Our boys enjoyed the TV and DVD player in their room (a special treat!). The front desk staff were very helpful with restaurant recommendations and coordinating shuttle pick-up. There were several open outdoor areas around our condo for our kids to play, have snowball fights, and build snow "forts". Our boys were excited to see a fox one day in the snow near the condo (but not too near!). Some other guests told us they spotted an elk passing by one morning. We visited the Ice Castle, Old Town Hot Springs, and Howelsen Hill (for tubing). All of those are fun nearby attractions. We enjoyed dinner at La Montana, Rex's, Steamboat Smokehouse, and The Boathouse Pub - all delicious and kid-friendly.

I've gone here for two ski trips now and I can't complain about anything. They have shuttles to take you to the slopes. I believe they have shuttles to take you downtown, but I did not call them. The kitchen was well stocked with plates, cups, forks, etc.

Can't find anything to complain about.

We had 8 of us in a 3 bed/ 3 bath condo for 4 days, and it was wonderful. Tyler, the Manager, has done a great job. All the shuttle drivers are helpful, friendly, VERY prompt and take you anywhere within city limits. Clean, well furnished/equipped, and just a great place.

Suggestion to Tyler...turn up the heat a titch on the hot tubs! That's the only suggestion, though! We'll be back.

Room Tip: It's a well-organized subdivision
