Last time we visited Telluride we stayed up at the ski area in the
"Mountain Village". I found it to be overpriced and boring! The Town of Telluride is the place to stay - and at the Hotel Columbia! Right
across the street from the free Gondola, nice rooms, hot tub with views, great continental breakfast (awesome homemade granola), very friendly staff! Only a couple of blocks from the main street, and steps away from great restaurants, (including the one in the hotel).
This is the ideal location for sure.

Overall we had a good experience at the Hotel Columbia. Our room was clean and spacious and the staff was friendly and accomodating. The location is excellent - being close to the gondola was very convenient. The hotel provides storage lockers for ski equipment so we did not have to lug our equipment very far. We did not need a car as everything is in walking distance. The only negatives were 1) we felt that the bed could have been more comfortable and 2) we wished there was more variety in the continental breakfast because we got sick of eating the same food every day.

We once again spent the last week of ski season and the Columbia. As always everything was great. You really are treated like family here. The maids are great, front desk staff friendly, and scott the GM even took us skiing for a few runs. They really go out of there way to make sure it is a wonderful vacation. While we are away skiing the front desk staff watches and walks our dog. I cant say enough about this town and this wonderful small hotel.

We stayed here in early summer, before the larger crowds arrived for the Jazz fest and other activities.

Our room was large and extremely comfortable: king bed with nice, comfy linens and comfortable pillows, pull-out sofa, chairs, desk, mini-fridge, large armoir w/TV & VCR, 2 large windows. Family was in adjoining room - their room was smaller but lovely & spacious with a king bed and a neat game table (checkerboard w/ game pieces). Bathrooms were wonderful - very spacious and impeccably clean. Ours had a separate tub and large shower, sink with large vanity and drawers (!!), nice amenities, and a door that opened onto a teeny balcony.

Hotel has a game room, which was a nice place to hang out while waiting for everyone to get ready for dinner.

Ask for a room away from the gondola if you're a light sleeper - the gondola runs at different hours, depending on the season.

The breakfast was delicious and fresh. Juice, quiche, wonderful breads (scones, muffins, fruit breads), cereals, yogurt, etc. The leftover breads are placed in the lobby - you can nosh on some later if you need a snack!

The staff is very friendly and accommodating - we all felt quite at home. A local cat often visits the lobby in the evening. The lobby is comfortable and cozy, with a large fireplace.

Parking is free, the lot is small. So, you leave your key with the desk person so that they can move the cars when they need to. You pull up right next to the door by the stairs, so unpacking and packing your car is a breeze.

The location is ideal, right across from the free gondola and within walking distance of many nice restaurants. Actually, you're within walking distance of the entire town, since you probably will not need your vehicle unless you're driving out of town.

We had a great stay and will definitely return.

Just returned from our summer vacation and visited the Hotel Columbia in Telluride.

It was okay - I always check Trip Advisor before I book hotels. I really did not find it to be as great as the reviews I read.

The bed was awful, the pillows squishy and if you like to listen to the sound of the Gondola each night till 12:00am outside your window - well it wasn't my idea of a great nights sleep.

The front desk staff was not all that friendly.

There is a fee for parking. Parking is limited in Telluride.

The restaurant was a bit dusty looking and the complementary continental breakfast was nothing to write home about.

All in all it was okay for a Telluride in town location.

There is a great bed and breakfast next door - The San Sophia. We stayed there on our last visit to Telluride and would recommend it way over the Hotel Columbia if you are considering either.

The management of the Hotel Columbia regrets that this guest did not enjoy their stay; however, we are proud to say that the Hotel Columbia has
recently undergone a nine-month, multi-million dollar renovation. Through this renovation, many of the above complaints were addressed.

First of all, the hotel boasts all brand-new bedding, including deluxe 13 inch pillow top mattresses adorned with luxury, 100% cotton sheets and your choice of down or down-alternative pillows and a down or down-alternative comforter. In addition, the Hotel Columbia now features air-conditioning in its rooms. For those that are sensitive to the noise of the gondola, the air-conditioning keeps guests at a comfortable, cool temperature without having to open their windows to the noise of the gondola. Furthermore, the Hotel Columbia installed sound-reducing film on their windows and features noise reducing blinds.

Second, the Hotel Columbia believes that dedication to service is one of our defining characteristics. Our staff is committed to taking care of your every need before, during, and after your stay. Let us show you our spirit of hospitality in the beautiful San Juan Mountains.

Third, while there is a $10 fee for parking, we offer on-site, valet parking. Our staff will gladly park your car at the end of a long day. With a few minutes notice, we will have your car warmed up and ready to go.

Finally, in conjunction with our remodel, we have expanded our deluxe, continental breakfast. The pastry-chef of the Cosmopolitan restaurant makes
home-made granola, bread, quiche, and a variety of baked goods that change daily. In addition, we offer a meat and cheese platter, hard-boiled eggs,
cereals, yogurt, oatmeal and a vast array of fresh fruit. The breakfast is still complimentary.

In addition to the above items, the Hotel Columbia features a lobby level ski/bike storage room with boot dryers and individual lockers. We also have
complimentary wireless and hard-wired internet, and we are still dog friendly.

We invite you to come and experience the newly remodeled Hotel Columbia. Thank you!
