Wow, what a throwback to a bygone era! Pet friendly, but a bit scary as you ponder just what fluids created the multitude of stains on the carpet.

Functional, basic accommodations. Reminded me of the tourist hostels seen throughout Europe. A hundred bucks more will get you five star lodging just up the street, but this place was full, so that says something, I guess.

Thank you for your review. While the Mountainside Inn has the advantage of economy it is true that the carpets are under review for replacement under a capital improvement program in the near future. Our housekeepers do work hard to keep our units clean and stain free so if there was a problem, I do apologize. The products we use to keep the carpets clean are environmentally friendly and we use a machine for extraction so there is no buildup.

Sincerely,
Heather White

My wife and I had never been to Telluride. This property is off the main drag and it's
quiet near a stream. Our unit was #416 which faced the mountain. Open the window and
you hear a whole lot of nature. For a very expensive ski town, the Mountainside is a value.
The rooms are clean and the staff is professional. If you're on a budget, come stay here.

We stayed for 2 nights and had a great experience! It's right by the river and our room faced the mountain, so it was great waking up to the mountain view and fresh, cool air (we had the windows open at night). We got one of the smaller rooms with a queen bed and a twin bed for 3 of us; had a kitchenette, which was great! Did some emailing back and forth before our trip with Heather, who was extremely helpful and quick to respond. Thank you! We will definitely stay there again!!

No one tells you about the $30 pet fee. That is not pet friendly. Pet friendly is allowing pets for free. I work all around the country take my dogs everywhere and pet friendly doesn't charge. The parking is horrible here the 100 rules you have to go by makes you feel like your in prison. I don't know if it's this place or telluride in general but I won't be back to either one.

We are sorry you had this experience. We are obligated to do extra cleaning for guests who bring pets to ensure that the rooms are immaculate and there is a cost associated with this. We also are up front about the fee with our third party bookings as well as direct bookings and we send prearrival emails that clearly state the fee in advance.

This hotel was in a great location and a good value for Telluride. We were looking for an inexpensive hotel for our one night visit in Telluride and this place fit the bill. The room was perfect for 3 people (queen bed and a twin) and had a small kitchenette.

This was the second time we've stayed at Mountainside Inn and will continue to stay there in the future! You can Not beat the price in Telluride valley, the location is right on the 'river' and walking distance to the gondola, downtown restaurants and Telluride park. The room is a bit small, but most of the Telluride spaces are small, the kitchenette is perfect, the staff was Wonderful and we've always had Great experience with the onsite jacuzzi (summer, fall or winter).

Room Tip: Small place, so all rooms were great!

We've been to Telluride several times and stayed in different places each time. What I loved about this little hotel is that it's tucked up against the mountain and off the beaten track. There's alot of noise in Telluride in the summer but not at this place. Our room was small with a large bathroom and a "galley kitchen." You get a parking pass for free parking in the lot next to the hotel which was very convenient to our building. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The hot tub is really hot and large enough that you don't have to be close to total strangers. It's true that the carpets are worn and the beds aren't the very best, but they provide lots of great pillows, and the kitchenette was outfitted with everything you need to cook including a cutting board. My only real complaint is more of a suggestion. They could put more hooks or racks in the bathroom and maybe one or two in the kitchenette for the towel and pot holder. Otherwise, this place is a great value.

Room Tip: We had room 407 which is on the mountain side of the hotel. It was very quiet and private.
