“Another great visit to Hotel Telluride”
Reviewed 21 February 2012

Once again my stay at Hotel Telluride was wonderful. It definitely feels like a mountain home away from home. The front desk was very helpful in planing some activities for me such as snowshoeing and dog sledding ( I don't ski ).They also suggested great restaurants. The bellman are very friendly and will drive you anywhere around town you want to go or pick you up from your restaurant at night. I had great meals at the Nook prepared by Justin the chef. My junior suite was warm and cosy. It was nice to spend time in the lobby by the cosy fireplace. If you are musically inclined, there is a hotel guitar by the fireplace that you can strum or if you are lucky, one of the bellman ( who is in a local band ) will play for you! I can't wait to come back in the summer for hiking!

Hotel Telluride is a great place to stay. The staff is friendly, helpful and make you feel at home. (The fresh baked cookies in the afternoon add a nice "homey" touch too)
I highly recommend staying here. It's a good location and if you don't want to walk the extra few blocks, they will shuttle you. You can't beat the service of this hotel!

My husband and I ski Telluride every winter, and we've stayed in several high-end hotels in town and in Mountain Village. Nothing beats Hotel Telluride for service, ambiance, and value. From the cozy lobby where you actually want to spend time lounging by the fire, to the spacious, well-appointed rooms, the hotel is truly a gem. The front desk staff couldn't be more helpful, friendly and genuinely kind. I always need extra hydration in the dry air of Telluride, so I asked for extra humidifiers for our suite. Sure enough, there were four of them misting away when we arrived, and the extra humidity really helped with acclimation to the elevation.

Don't let the hotel's location at the western end of town dissuade you from staying there. Just give your skis and poles to the jackrabbit team of bellmen/drivers when you arrive, and you'll never have to hassle with your equipment again during your stay. The skis and poles will be loaded onto the hotel shuttle and you'll be driven the 3 minutes over to the gondola station to start your ski day. Program the hotel phone number into your cell and give the front desk a call when you've had enough on the slopes. Before you even get down to the gondola base, the shuttle will be there, ready to whisk you back to the hotel. The service is free, but a tip for the friendly young drivers, now and then, is appreciated.

Breakfast in the Nook is filling and good, with several hot dishes and the usual cold offerings on the buffet, as well as cooked-to-order omelets, French toast and oatmeal from the kitchen. There's a fun apres-ski scene too, and all of Telluride's excellent restaurants and bars are a short stroll away. Too cold at night? The free shuttle will take you wherever you want to go, and pick you up later.

I had a terrific reflexology/facial combo at the hotel's spa one afternoon. Heaven, after several days of beating myself up on the slopes.

Special thanks to Matt and 'Manda at the front desk, Ben and the rest of the shuttle drivers, and Justin in the Nook. We'll be back!

I am in Telluride every year, sometimes more than once. We stay for weeks to a month. I have been all around Mountain Village and the town of Telluride and say, without any hesitation, that Hotel Telluride far exceeds anything you will find in comfort and convenience. The location is ideal because it is away from the noise of the gondola/slopes yet convenient to all shops and activities. I don't have children and I don't want to be around the college students. Maybe that makes me a grinch but I want to feel like I'm on vacation - I want peace! Hotel Telluride is clean, quiet, and above all - very friendly. This is definitely one of the high-end hotels but the cost does not reflect it. These folks go out of their way EVERY time to make certain there is nothing that is left undone. After five years, this is home.

Room Tip: There are three sides to the hotel. One faces the soccer field of the beautiful school which is a d...

Just returned from a four day ski trip. Staff was friendly and the rides back and forth to the gondola were great. We didn't really need to touch our skis. Once we arrived back at the hotel, everything was taken care of. Rooms are large, hot tubs welcoming and breakfast is hearty. The little fridges and microwaves in room allow you to keep groceries and take home leftovers. Only downside was heater in the room that was the only source of heat and had was loud. Very welcoming, friendly place and would stay here again without question. Being in the town of Telluride is so much better than staying in Mountain Village and this hotel is a great option and walkable to the main restaurants.

Room Tip: all rooms have either balconies or little patios. Rooms 219 is a double with a huge deck and a great...

Friend and I spent four days in Telluride for a ski weekend. The hotel was a great spot and a great deal for the money. The staff was all very welcoming and greeted us any time we walked in the door. The location was very convenient right on the main drag. The hotel offers a complimentary shuttle to take you anywhere in town. We used it once to get dropped off at the gondola with all our skis and equipment. Other than that we walked from e hotel everywhere else in town. Hotel offers parking for $20/day but we were able to find free street parking right across the street.

I come to Telluride at least twice a year and always stay at Hotel Telluride. I don't even bother checking other hotels in the area. Rooms are comfy, clean and spacious, food in the Nook is tasty, lobby is very cozy with a fireplace and even a guitar!!! But what makes this place #1 for me, is the staff; helpful, courteous, and always smiling.
