The engine is a neat reminder of the past and the importance of steam engines in the history of Colorado. The parade of States flags with plaques commemorating when that state joined the Union to become part of the United States was fascinating. Don’t expect to spend more than 20 minutes here, but use it as the starting point for a short river walk (cool rock painting along the way). A great start to discovering the quaint town of Trinidad. Easy access form I-70 and Safeway is across the parking lot so a picinic in the adjoining park is easy.
