“Absolute gem!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 June 2014

A delightful and unexpected gem! Valerie made us feel like we were old friends returning as soon as we walked in. Excellent service continued with Ken at dinner. Matt even made time to take a break from the kitchen to talk with us. Sonia and Eric were just as delightful taking care of us in the morning. Love that it's a TV-free zone in the room. We cut short out stay in Vail to enjoy the Inn's hospitality again and gorgeous location. We will be back!

Room Tip: The Twin Peaks room is upstairs and has a private bathroom if sharing is a concern.

We stayed here two nights over Memorial Day weekend, in order to hike Mt Elbert. Just lovely!!! The welcome and warmth are just unbelievable.

The hotel itself is really rustic with a long history. The new management did a decent job on renovating the place. I would not recommend this place if you are four season resort type of people. However, I would highly recommend it if you want Colorado authenticity, great service, awesome food and close vicinity to hiking trails on MT Elbert. You can start hiking right behind the hotel.

The staff was just so kind and ready to help at all times, even before we got there. Valerie answered all of our questions about hiking, shopping, attractions and activities around town. She always had a great smile on her face.

Matt, the manager, was a fantastic chef, very interesting & entertaining to chat with. He provided great info on what we can do around Twin Lakes and Buena Vista. Awesome guy. I did not expect this caliber on food in this tiny little town. Loved loved every meal that we had there.

Since we had to start hiking around 5:00am. They even provided "Hikers' Breakfast" in a bag to go the night before. How great was that!

The owners, Margie and Greg, were so friendly and attentive during our stay. We loved the little conversations with them too. Thank you so much!

Room Tip: If you are a light sleeper, ear plugs could be beneficial.

Had lunch and what a great experience! Food was great and wide selection from the bar.. Staff excellent, Margie, one of the owners gave us a personal tour of the rooms. Such a beautiful setting. I recommend a stop to experience a top notch business! Thanks!!!

Delicious food and charming atmosphere! The beds were comfortable and you can tell they have been working hard at the renovations. New plumbing and electric are just the beginning of what they have changed but they have maintained their historical charm. Chef Matt has wonderful creations, from fish to beef, fresh game to pasta. Well worth a stop for dinner and a relaxing evening in the mountains.

We spent New Year's Eve at the Twin Lakes Inn and have not had such an enjoyable evening in recent memory. The food was fabulous, the music totally engaging, the staff very friendly and attentive, and the rooms are just wonderful! This is the second time we have stayed overnight at the Inn, and I would highly recommend it. This inn was built in the 1880s and retains much of that character, with small but very nicely decorated rooms, very comfortable beds, and a cozy library/game room. A lot of work has gone into renovating the building in the past two years and the result is a lovely place to stay and a fantastic dining experience,

Room Tip: Only four of the rooms have attached bathrooms. The rest share bathrooms down the hall. Very nice...
