We stayed here for a night in May, it is a pretty nice place but the one thing I found odd was that there was no tv. I guess they expect everyone to be out all day and not want a tv but at the end of the day we needed some distraction. I guess we're not the types to sit in silence and come up with conversation when we just want to veg. It is not really an issue but they should maybe mention it on their website. Other than that it was great. The extension cord run through the wall and into the bathroom (which is against fire code) was concerning but I would still stay here again.

If you want cozy Colorado comfort, delicious cuisine and outstanding views this is the place for you!! This has to be one of the best places that my husband and I have ever stayed! We were in room #14 and it was incredibly quiet and comfortable....we even checked the mattress in the morning to see what brand it was!!! The staff was great and everyone made us feel at home!! We will definitely go back!!

Room Tip: Room #14 is private and perfect!!

A good friend had her wedding reception here less than 2 weeks ago and we had an unbelievable experience and will plan to return again another time with our family. We stayed at the inn for 4 nights and we couldn't have had a better time. The rooms were quaint and cozy and the mountain scenery was incredible. Rates were very reasonable since the rooms included a continental breakfast. Every single person we encountered a the Inn from the owners to the bar staff were friendly and accommodating (and, as bridesmaids who helped a bit with the wedding, we were pretty demanding). I would definitely recommend this beautiful and quaint location.

Room Tip: We stayed in the writers room which was a little bigger with two queen beds. Very quaint but there...

We chose to stay here after searching on the internet for a place that would be located near Mt. Elbert's south trail head. This place cannot be BEAT! Not only was Room #14 comfortable, but the food at this establishment is incredible. The Dayton Room Restaurant was absolutely fantastic food, and since we weren't able to eat breakfast there the next morning due to our scheduled hike, the staff prepared a hiker's breakfast that was more than we could dream of! They even showed me how to start the coffee maker so I could have coffee before hitting the trail. If you are wanting to hike up Mt. Elbert, or just enjoy the Twin Lakes, or just have a wonderful experience after driving down from Independence Pass, this is the place for you! The staff are so friendly and welcoming, and they really know how to make a traveler feel at ease.

Room Tip: General Store across the street has just about anything you would need. In the restaurant, try to ge...

After 12 days on the Colorado Trail, The Twin Lakes Inn was a beautiful spot to rest. Friendly staff, clean, and peaceful. Wonderful views! Rooms were cozy and quiet. We highly recommend staying. Lunch and dinner at The Dayton Room Restaurant was an added bonus. Chef is well respected, and the ambiance was perfect for mountain town. Great good at reasonable price. Finally, the beer selection . . . Book your stay now.

My wife and I were driving from Aspen to Colorado Springs. We pulled off the road at Twin Lakes to stretch our legs and admire the natural beauty of the location. Since it was lunch time we surveyed the dining situation there in town. With low expectations we walked over to the Twin Lakes Inn to read the posted menu hoping for at least for a half decent burger. The hotel receptionist informed us that we could sit outside and our little dog was welcome.

To shorten this review I'll say that our expectations were greatly exceeded. Our waiter was friendly and laid back. The big surprise was the high quality of the food we were served. My wife had a gourmet roasted tomato soup, and a turkey sandwich on homemade bread that were both delicious. I had a tuna salad sandwich on a homemade baguette with a house salad that was excellent. We shared an order of truffle fries that were as good as any we have eaten in Aspen or elsewhere.

The menu had many more enticing items that we did not sample but would love to return to try in the future. I'm not sure about the other review posted here but our experience was nothing short of excellent. Again, we were very pleasantly surprised! My compliments to the chef and staff!

This our second stay and both times have been great. Friendly staff, comfortable accommodations, and even delicious food. Can't beat the location or price, either. The history of the building only adds to the charm.
