With less than 10 days to our daughter's wedding, we had to relocate due to Colorado floods. We emailed Monique and within an hour she had a wonderful menu planned and was ready to do whatever we needed. Our guests are still talking about THE best wedding food they've ever had! Monique was absolutely wonderful. She and her staff helped with everything; set up, clean up, suggestions of vendors for the last minute. All the while she was so calm, kind, and reassuring. We could not have pulled off this wedding without her. The best part is, it turned out to be our daughter and son in law's dream wedding. Everything was perfect! Thank you, Monique and the Piney staff!!

As a Vail local for 14 years, my husband and I made a quick getaway up to Piney for the evening and it was incredibly wonderful! We were greeted and checked in by the lovely Australian hostess who gave us a full tour of our cabin on the lake. The accomodation was rustic yet comfortable... Upscale camping.... If you are looking for 5 stars, skip the drive and stay at the Four Seasons and not 13 miles into the wilderness. We loved the experience of the campfire and lake in the evening.

We rented a canoe and paddled around the lake, a fun experience as we had not been canoeing for years. Lunch was fantastic and we had a great selection of snacks and beverages to purchase for our outing.
They have made some updates since I was last there 7 years ago, but it still maintains the charm and off-the beaten track adventure that we were looking to experience, while still providing all the basics to make our evening special and comfortable. Plus the views at sunset and first thing in the morning were unbeatable.

We were a little worried after reading some of the other reviews, but realize that perhaps those people need to stay put in their suburban oasis and leave the rustic beauty of the catered wilderness to those a little less critical & high maintenance.

Thanks for a great visit, we will definitely return soon!

My daughter recently moved to CO and fell in love with this place. When you see the view, no explanation needed. It's breathtaking. We were able to stay in the small cottages they have for one night. Monique checked us in. She's a doll. Super friendly and accommodating. The cottages however need some updates. For the $160 a night the carpets need a super cleaning or replacing.
The bedding needs to be tossed as well. Not quite sure how often this is washed, but please, let's update. It's the little things that will keep people coming back and getting 5 star reviews.

I drove to Paradise last week…while visiting Beaver Creek my family and I drove up to Piney Lake in the Gore Range of Colorado. It was by far the best part of our vacation.

Entering the wilderness area is a rare opportunity to leave behind the developed culture and see the Rocky Mountains, and that part of America, in an untouched state. The view on the ride up is perhaps unchanged in thousands of years…and nothing could improve it!

The Lake area is pristine and perfect. We experienced the grandeur of the Rocky Mountains, on a short walk from the car park. There were humbling views that were accessible by an easy walk around the lake. Walking just a little further, and a little further more, opened mountain vistas that defied usual definition. The whole experience was heightened by the crisp, dry air, the smell of mountain pine, the chirping of birds and the grand Gore Range. It affected our family, who realized that this was way beyond “a walk in the woods”!

The visit to the charming and “funky” (my daughter’s term) lodge was a highlight of the trip. The staff was beyond charming and helpful, they truly cared that we had the experience of a lifetime. The caring, informative and honestly friendly staff cemented our high opinion of this special place.

We drove silently back to Beaver Creek , all of us reliving the awesome experience of our visit to Piney Lake.

The concierge at our hotel recommended this to us. The drive there was a little bumpy but once we got there we were not disappointed. We were greeted by Monique and she immediately told us all about Piney Ranch and what we could do there. What a lovely lady!! We really enjoyed talking to her. We rented a canoe and paddled to see the moose that was on the other side of the lake. Then we came back and had a wonderful lunch. We then hiked to see the waterfalls and it was a great hike. Took about 3 hours. On our way down, we saw 2 moose - Incredible!
All in all, a great day!!!!
