“Excellent Hotel! Right next to the lifts!”
Reviewed 8 February 2014

I stayed at this hotel for 4 days while visiting Vail in January 2014. The hotel was very nice and spacious with more than enough room inside the room. I stayed in a regular room with a fireplace and big balcony. Delicious hot breakfast every morning with plenty of options. Lifts are right outside the entrance of the hotel and plenty of ski rental shops nearby to find the best price (although I highly recommend American Ski Exchange. They will beat any competitor price for any rental as long as you show proof of it beforehand). The ladies at the front desk were very friendly and attentive to customers' needs. Very warm, enthusiastic personalities. You can tell they are trained well. Definitely will stay here again whenever I come to vail again! A+++

We stayed at the Mountain Haus last week and the hotel is definitely a great choice. The standard room are rather small and you can't control the heat. Otherwise, the staff was great and you can't beat the price. Cookies are serve every evening and hot drinks are available during the day.

My family of six which includes four teenagers stayed here for a four day weekend getaway. We stayed in a 3 bedroom penthouse which was very nicely laid out. We really enjoyed being so convenient to the mountain and the village. The bus is right outside the front door of the hotel. Everyone loved the afternoon cookies and hot chocolate. Staff was very helpful and rooms were very clean. Housekeeping service was excellent. The only down side is having to use the public parking and the hotel is a little bit older but still very nice.

After my review last year of the Mountain Haus at the covered bridge in Vail, I was looking forward to a return trip. Everything was as expected except for a few minor things.

My friend arrived very late at night, around 2 am. When I checked in at 11 pm earlier that evening, I asked the girl at the front desk would any one be on duty to give him a room key. The answer was an undeniable "yes". Do I even have to finish this story? I think you all know where it's headed.....
So, my friend arrives at 2am, and there's no one at the front desk. After about 5 minutes of waiting, he finally have up and went upstairs. He rang on the doorbell until my other friend answered. That was a bit of an inconvenience. The next problem was the noise on Sunday night.
There were people directly above us apparently having a party or get together. Hey, I'm all for having fun, but really people? Noise until 4 am?
Sliding doors opening and shutting, toilets flushing, people walking, I heard it all, and it kept me up for several hours in the middle of the night. I finally HAD to call the front desk to lodge a complaint about the noise at 3 am. I don't think they even did anything about it, because it continued for another hour. Other than that, the complimentary breakfast was offered again this year (and good thing it's free) with what seemed to be very average quality food. It's pricey (750 a night), but it's in a great spot. You can park your car when you get there and never have to get in it again until you make your way back home. A few things wrong, but still an ok place overall.

Have stayed here several times while in Vail. Great rooms, ideally situated in Vail village, great amenities(breakfast, coffee/tea machine, afternoon cookies, outdoor hot tub). 5 minute walk to gondola One. Vail transportation center is right across the street if you want to head over to beaver creek for a day of skiing. In town bus stops right outside as well. Staff is very friendly.

My husband and I had booked a last minute two night stay at the Mountain Haus. It was wonderful. Our room was spacious, with a gas fireplace, mini fridge, robes, and outside our window a beatiful pine tree covered in lights. The hotel was very comfortable, clean, great location to the village and easy walk to the Village Gondola. Exceptional continental breakfast perfect for a great start on the slopes. The spa was clean inside and out, enjoyed soaking in the outside hot tub which was the size of a small pool. The staff was friendly and very helpful, I had left a scarf and hat in our room, and they mailed it to me! Looking forward to return in 2014!
