The room was very nice and comfortable.
At night, we grilled sausages over the flames near the pool area. The kids were able to watch a movie while swimming in the heated pool.
However, we had a hard time falling asleep because we could hear the conversation coming from the adjoining room. Then, at 2 am the whole family was awaken due to the noise coming from the room next door. We had to call the front desk to make it stop.

All in all, a great place to stay if you are not a light sleeper!

This resort has a great mix of both modern/contemporary and old-school mountain lodge charm. Beautiful common areas, comfortable loungey furniture. We had a basic king bed room, which was comfortable. We could have upgraded to a mountain view or a king suite, but we knew we wouldn't spend much time in the room anyway. The only thing we would have enjoyed more was if the TV was High Def. Brunch is a superb deal. Get the sourdough pancakes and fresh smoothies! The outdoor heated pool and hot tub area is awesome. We had great weather and were able to lounge on the chaise chairs while gazing on the aspen-covered mountain, while the creek/river washes by. We would definitely go back. This trip was taken in May, so I can't comment on the skiing amenities, but this place is fabulous for a low-season getaway.

Room Tip: Mountain view would be amazing, but only if you plan on spending time in your room.

This hotel goes back a few years - but it is very well-maintained. The public areas are very nice - a wonderful library, very pleasant bar, decks, restaurant and pool. The rooms are pleasant, but a bit dated. The staff, however, is invariably pleasant and helpful, and genuinely want guests to enjoy their stay. Vail can be very, very expensive - and I'm sure the Cascade is too, during the season. But off-season there are some very reasonable rates. It is a bit out of the way, but on the other hand, it is quiet, relaxed, and right on Gore creek. My wife and I enjoy walking, so the location overall is a plus for us! If you're not into walking, there is a shuttle bus that leaves for Lionshead and Vail every 15 minutes.

Room Tip: I'd ask for a creek-side room away from the pool. The newest section of the hotel is fairly far...

Dear TLJ4,
Thank you for your recent review. Glad to hear you enjoyed our natural setting, our spring specials and the path adjacent to Gore Creek. Did you know Gore Valley Trail stretches almost 10 miles from Dowd Junction to East Vail? This paved multi-use path is a great way to explore Vail and guests can even rent bikes from Charter Sports, located on-property. We also appreciate the serenity in our setting. Hope you come back and experience it again!

The good first.....friendly staff, nice pool area, good location, the views of the creek, the free shuttle to Lions Head and Vail Village. The bike rentals were very reasonable and the gentleman who helped us there was wonderful!

The not so good.....room was dated and needed basic upkeep. The window was very dirty (obscuring our view), the bathroom celling had mold spots all over it. The comforter was stained, the tv remote did not work properly, the shower head was very basic and dated.

The spa was pretty enough but the services were very average and the staff really need training. My esthetician told me not to wear sunscreen because it causes skin cancer! My boyfriend's esthetician offered him some "upgrades" during his facial, and it wasn't until checkout that we found out it was an additional charge. When we told the front desk staff at the spa that, they didn't offer any solution or apology and simply wanted to know how much gratuity we wanted to add.
The pool outside the gym area said no one under 15. We tried to go there and it was full of out of control screaming kids. We went to the main pool and had the same experience.

The restaurant was good for lunch, but the breakfast buffet was very average. Our server told us on numerous occasions how much he likes to drink and/or get drunk, and the next day proceeded to tell us about his hangover. Again, the staff needs training.

We tried to order a mixed drink at the bar and were told they do not have a blender. When we asked the waiter or the bar staff basic questions almost all of them said they didn't know or they were new. Not really what we were expecting for these prices.

Overall I would give it a C. I will stay somewhere else on my next trip to Vail.

Hello Stapleton_Girl,

Thank you for your recent review and sharing your experience. We’re glad to hear you enjoyed our service and location. We strive to provide memorable experiences and appreciate you expressing your feedback on some of the issues you encountered while staying with us. We’re in the process of refreshing our rooms to include new pillows, bedding, lighting, carpet, furniture and more. In addition to our guest rooms, we are continuously making improvements and investing in our property to provide a genuine, welcoming environment. I can assure you that what you encountered in our spa and in our restaurant does not meet our expectations as a Four Diamond resort. We will use your feedback as a training opportunity to help improve guest satisfaction.

I encourage you to call me next time you're in our restaurant, spa or hotel if there's anything I can assist with to ensure your experience is nothing short of great.

Our stay at The Cascade Resort was absolutely amazing! We were upgraded to a room over-looking the creek, which provided stunning views. It was so great to sit out on the balcony and listen to the rushing water and take in all the natural beauty.
The beds are extremely comfortable, the bathroom well-appointed, and the room overall was very clean and beautiful. The staff was so very friendly, helpful, and polite.
Our visit was during May, off-season, so we basically had the outdoor heated pool to ourselves, which we enjoyed immensely. After several days of sight-seeing and activities prior to arriving in Vail, our time at The Cascade Resort was so relaxing, peaceful, and made us finally say, "Now this is vacation!". Thank you, Cascade staff, for making our first visit to Vail so memorable.

Way above my expectations. Very relaxing and the staff was wonderful! They upgraded our room for our anniversary. It opened up to the river. Love the free shuttle but I wish we would have just stayed on site.

Dear Jessica,
First let me take a moment to send you best wishes on your anniversary. We are truly honored that you selected Vail Cascade as your vacation destination to celebrate this special occasion. We appreciate you taking the time to write a review on your experience and from what it sounds like, you had a memorable time, which is great to hear. We’re glad you enjoyed our romantic rooms and setting. Many people do not realize that we overlook Gore Creek, which is a very unique attribute. If you decide to return to Vail, please let me know if there’s anything I can do to make your next visit even more memorable.

We stayed recently for a "Girls Weekend" and received excellent service from the second we pulled up at the entrance. When we checked in (livingsocial deal) we were upgraded to a beautiful Creek-side room. The view from the balcony and the sound of the roaring creek were truly relaxing.
The Concierge Service was very friendly and helpful recommending places to eat in Vail Village, workout schedules at the Spa and gave us a large umbrella for our nights out in the town. (It unfortunately rained quite a lot).

The Spinning Class at the Spa was so much fun - everyone working at the Spa was welcoming and more than happy to give us recommendations about what to do this time of year in the Vail area and where to eat! The Jacuzzi and Steam Room were perfect for a rainy afternoon and the locker room provides a relaxing club atmosphere. We preferred the Spa's facilities over the Hotel's pool and Hot Tub, simply because the Spa was not so busy.

The Hotel's outdoor pool and Hot Tubs are beautifully located Creek-side and are illuminated by several fire places in the evening. You can walk out/in to the gorgeous Fireside bar with it's large open fireplace and huge chandelier. The couches and large, comfy chairs made this the perfect place to have a drink before turning in on a cold, wet night.

We did not eat in the restaurant on site but "grabbed" breakfast from the Marketplace which offers a great choice of snacks- healthy granolas, yogurts and loads of different fruits - as well as hot breakfast sandwiches.

The Shuttle Service was excellent and punctual and made enjoying the nights out so much easier. During the day I highly recommend to walk the trail from the Resort to Vail Village and back!

All in all we had a very pleasant, enjoyable stay and the friendly, casual and uncomplicated atmosphere made us feel welcome throughout. I wish we could return soon!

Room Tip: Go for a Creek-side room. The view is wonderful and relaxing!
