“BEST Salads in town. ”
Reviewed 4 April 2014 via mobile

Having been to Yellowbelly several times and to other restaurants in the Vail Valley I can certainly say that Yellowbelly has the BEST salads in town.

Their staff is beyond friendly. I remember one day they actually opened up 30 minutes earlier than normal just to make my salad for my lunch break, where else in the Vail area are you going to get service like that?

My recommendation: Baby Kale salad w/ rotisserie chicken.

“good for the 20 something crowd”
Reviewed 26 March 2014

This is a very casual place with no attempt to make it a pleasant place to eat. It is stark and a bit reminiscent of a school cafeteria. The man who took our order took great pleasure in answering, "no" to any request that we made (i.e. a cup for water), but then got it for us anyway. I'm sure it was just his sense of humor, but probably better used on folks who were much younger and just boring when repeated every time.

The chicken was good, but not great. My husband's fried chicken was on the greasy side; my baked chicken was dry. The sides were good and more interesting than most chicken joints. I had a great roasted beet salad and "creamed" spinach that wasn't creamed - just boiled and overly salty. Their soda comes with the meal and was very good -- not the typical Coke or Pepsi brands.

Pricing was a little high, but not bad for Vail.

“Spring Break in Vail”
Reviewed 9 March 2014 via mobile

Got into Vail late. This was a great choice. Healthy choices to chose from. Very nice staff.
Fast service, almost no wait. The sides are great! Quinoa salad was very good. Hope to go back before we leave.

“Better than fast food”
Reviewed 4 March 2014

Their main meat (and only meat) is chicken. And if you like chicken, it's great any way served. If you don't want chicken, there are other options that are fresh and healthy.
