“Cheap & quite good”
Reviewed 9 June 2014

This is located in the parking structure and is almost a closet in the structure. Think a small food stand in a run down mall.

But... the food is really good. Not awesome but quite good. It's plain Mexican food well made. So nothing weird or unusual. The tacos are cooked in the fryer with the meat - the best way to make tacos.

The beer choice is decent - a ton of Mexican beers and a couple of micro-brews. It's cool but not ice cold (like you generally get in Europe).

“Quick lunch”
Reviewed 8 June 2014 via mobile

This is good if you're in a hustle and need food. Yes, as the other reviews say, La Cantina is in the transportation center, so it's not a great location. It did feel a little dirty due to the sub station atmosphere. However, the food and the prices were pretty good. You also get chips with free refills. The staff is nice, too.

“Refreshing Prices and Great Mexican!”
Reviewed 14 April 2014 via mobile

Our 3rd night in Vail we were tired and looking for a "quick snack." The kind folks at Sitzmark Lodge immediately told us of this place. I loved the reasonable (normal) prices and my son gobbled up his enchiladas. I was stuck with leftovers from last night's dinner. Hope to come back to try the crunchy tacos and margaritas.

“The best kept little secret in Vail”
Reviewed 27 March 2014

If you are looking for ambience, this is NOT the place for you. If you are looking for real people, real good food and fantastic margaritas, go no further, belly up to the bar and have some fun. Food is really really good. Bottomless chips and salsa. Several fresh salsas to choose from. The crispy tacos are awesome! Be ready because many might call this a "dive" but sometimes those are the best places, right? Truly, this is one of my favorite places in Vail.

“Dirty little place under the bus station”
Reviewed 30 January 2014 via mobile

We were looking for a quick, cheap dinner- we did get that (cheap by Vail standards anyway). The food was adequate only because we were starving. There was old food caked on the tablecloth under the glass top and the place just seemed to be in chaos. A lot of people hanging around drinking. They ran out of chips and a couple other things. The guys who work there seem nice enough and did hustle. Tried to be open minded about the bus station location but we decided on takeout because the atmosphere just made us want to get out of there asap. Probably would've gone elsewhere if we knew the area. We tried it based on other reviews but would not go again.
