Description: For more than 23 years Terra Bistro has been an essential dining destination for Vail Valley visitors, as well as a lasting favorite among locals. Chef Shawn Miller's adventurous approach to seasonal ingredients yields imaginative, carefully-crafted dishes and ever-changing menus. With a special focus on lighter fare, but with plenty of opportunity for indulgence, our menus naturally accommodate a variety of tastes and dietary restrictions, including gluten allergies and vegans. Accompanying our menus is our extensive wine list presented by our very talented in-house Sommelier. Additionally, we offer a variety Colorado craft beers and our specialty cocktails, inspired by Colorado spirits, are often a highlight of our guest's experience.

While the menu offers fresh organic dishes, which were all prepared well, this restaurant is in my mind overpriced. Dinner for 5 on 4th of July (with no wine or dessert) was over $400. There are many other more moderately priced places to dine in Vail Village.

My boyfriend loved the smoked trout Cesar salad but wasn't to my liking. He had the rib eye which is what i usually order and loved it. I had the short ribs and didn't like it so much but don't normally order. He said it was great. I'm thinking i had an off night. The atmosphere is great and on a Monday in July it was packed. They had a good selection of wine.

We often eat at Terra Bistro, and are never disappointed. Their offerings are so imaginative and fun, with great combinations of ingredients. We ate on the late side (after 8 p.m.) so our only observation was that as the crowd increased, our server was less available. We still had a wonderful meal, and will come back the next time we are in Vail. Tip: dress up so you fit in with the crowd!

We celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary here and it was a perfect and memorable evening. The service and food were outstanding. The menu is full of fresh, different and delicious options. We will be back!

We heard a lot of positive about Terra so this time in Vail we decided to try.
We had a reservation so when we arrived there was no problem and got a nice table next to the window. But then the waiter started to act in a strange way , actually he disappeared and it seemed he has no intension to bring us the wine and the water we ordered. So an other waitress took our order. The food is both: good and bad. The salads were bad, tasteless and seasoned in a curious way, if someone will sacrifice taste in order to eat healthy ,that's not me!
For the second we took the pork chop which was great but only for the moment. They serve pork medium rare done which is a very bad way to cook pork, actually you can get very sic from pork cooked that way ,pork has to be always well done! This is not beef ,the restaurant seems not to know these rules.
All night long we had a very bad feeling ,could not sleep.
Anyway, this is not the type of place I will ever return.
I can not recommend to others.
