“Great Last Night”
Reviewed 18 April 2014 via mobile

We looked hard into our options for our last night in Colorado. The steaks (Flank, especially, and the NY Strip) were cooked to order. Ceasar salad was delish and came with fresh anchovies. The Tots were good (we were curious about all these foods in Truffle oil...).

The service was wonderful and though people say its great for families, we did see a lot of kids, but they were not a distraction. The wine list was huge and i liked that i could get a 1/2 bottle for a reasonable price. We were curious about the 80's music soundtrack, but every place needs their quirk, i guess.

“Great Family Restaurant”
Reviewed 2 April 2014

Awlays great food and service. No reservation policy a pain but not a deal breaker. Plenty of choice for the kids.

“Best Burger in Vail for Sure!”
Reviewed 31 March 2014

A cute atmosphere that does attract a lot of families. Service is very good. Prices are high, but the quality is excellent. Serve complimentary delicious bread as a starter. Burgers are huge and tasty, run around $16 or so. Good casual choice in the Village that has lots of expensive mediocre restaurants.

“Happy hour heaven!”
Reviewed 30 March 2014 via mobile

My brother and I stopped in for quick drink at happy hour time and decided to get the Truffle Tater Tots to help soak up the alcohol. The only thing the bartender did wrong is not warning us we needed 5 more people help us with the awesome Tots! Our leftovers made a great breakfast the next morning with eggs and leftover steak! Yum!

“Not for dinner!”
Reviewed 29 March 2014 via mobile

This pseudo western restaurant, unfortunately attached to the Sonnenalp Hotel and Spa, is not the place for an adult seeking fine dining, or even good food! It is fine for lunch if you like well made burgers. However, in a town replete with fine restaurants, this one sticks out as unusually bad. Clearly geared for families needing to fill the bellies of children, I would certainly never eat dinner there again.

Of the entrees, we selected a strip steak and a Colorado bass. Steak was dry, flavorless and tough, even ordered medium rare. As for the bass, tiny portion, and over cooked.

Thank you for leaving us your feedback regarding your recent dining experience. I am disappointed to hear that you were not able to enjoy your dinner and the food preparation to the fullest. Our Bully Ranch restaurant is a western style restaurant, ideal for families and individuals, who are looking for a more casual atmosphere in Vail. If you are interested in a fine dining experience, I would recommend our Ludwig’s or Swiss Chalet restaurants. I hope we have the chance to welcome you back to the Sonnenalp in the near future.
