Description: Just across the Covered Bridge in Vail Village is Bridge Street's warm, cozy and oldest steak house - Russell's. We have a friendly, relaxing atmosphere with wonderful Creekside dining. Russell's features dry aged Certified Angus beef, along with delightful fish entrees and world-renowned Alaskan King Crab Legs. One side dish that you can't pass up is our scalloped potatoes - baked with onions, bacon and cheese with a golden brown top. A lot of our staff members have been with us for 20 years or more. Come by and see for yourself why the locals and staff love Russell's. We take great pride in serving premier steaks and seafood in the most enjoyable and accommodating restaurant in Vail. Reservations recommended.

Russell's is about the last place you see before going through the covered bridge and out of Vail Village. So, it is kind of easy to forget about; but well worth remembering. It is situated on Gore Creek, has a lovely view, and excellent food.

My very cool and laid back parents in their 50s were in town and my husband and I wanted to take them out for a good steak in Vail Village. I've been to Russell's before and it was a fantastic experience. This time, not so much. We ordered the scallops to start and they took about 20 minutes to get to the table--this was totally fine as we were happy to sit with our drinks and chat. The problem was that before we were even finished with the scallops, all of our steaks came to the table. The server's reasoning was that t"he steaks were ordered medium rare so they came out quickly". Wouldn't you expect that she would have waited to fire the second course until the timing was right? Still not a huge deal but then our sides lagged behind a few minutes so the timing was just off the entire meal. Thank goodness the food was excellent--props to the kitchen, their work was what we expected of Russell's.

This steak and seafood restaurant is very good. They are so kind and accomodating. We had a party of 14(8 kids) and they fit us in the area of the restaurant that was at the very back and sort of seperated. It was perfect for us. They got us in within an hour with a very short notice. No cups with lids, so bring a sippy cup-if needed.

Always try to fit in a visit to Russell's - top class meat served by excellent staff. Can get crowded at peaks times, despite a rigourous booking system. I sometimes think they get a little greedy and try to shoehorn a few extra bodies in. but hey, there's plenty of choce for steak in Vail, so you have a choice!

Can be pricy if you order extras or wine, but overall the beef makes up for it. For taste and value compromise, I'd recommend the NY Strip over the Prime Rib.

Russel´s is a very well located place in Vail. Like most things there, it´s not cheap, however, the quality of the food is very good.
We had the most recommended dish in Vail: the king crab legs, they were awsome, really awesome, but expensive. You better try them anyway, though.
Steaks were also very good, as well as fish dishes. Extensive wine list with many choices of all prices.
Two things I did not like: We were a party of 8, so they added 18% service automatically, which was considerably since we ordered large amounts of expensive wine, but the service was not great at all. We did not take the trouble to ask for a new bill so we could add a more reasonable amunt for tip. The other thing is that the restaurant has very limited space. We were not comfortable.
However, we do recommend Russell´s.
