“Very enjoyable”
Reviewed 5 September 2013

It was a time share not a hotel nd we loved it. It was quiet and well taken care of with lots of extras. The staff was very helpful. It was close to both villages at Vail. I would stay here again without a doubt.

Room Tip: Stay on side opposite of interstate.

Friends of ours gave us their timeshare for the week, so we were grateful and really didn't have any expectations coming in. Check in was a breeze when we arrived late in the evening, and the private parking garage was a nice perk, especially with a sleeping toddler and all the luggage and groceries we were bringing for the week. The luggage carts waiting in the garage for guests were also very helpful.

Our unit is a corner unit, 1 bedroom (separated from the unit by an accordion door) with a pull out couch, so would sleep 4, just not a lot of privacy. We are a family of 3, so we asked for a roll away bed to put in the main bedroom for our 4-year-old son so that we could stay up later in the living room and the front desk was happy to accomodate, and it arrived within about 5 minutes of our request. The furnishings were nice, the space was extremely clean, and all the dishes and stock in the kitchen worked very well for us.

The pool needed a bit of skimming when we got there, but the hot tub was perfect. The pool was a bit tough for our little guy to play in since the depth started at 3.5 feet so he couldn't stand, but we managed and the pool was really warm, so even when it got chilly it was nice. The deck/flooring in the pool area is made of rock and a bit overcrowded with all the patio furniture, but still a great mountain side view. However, my husband nearly cut his foot on the rocky deck, so I think if that was buffed out a bit it would be fine.

The on-sight game room was a big hit with my husband and our little guy, and the direct tv and flat screens in each unit were a great distraction when needed. The on sight independent pizza shop, Local Joe's, is a Local favorite apparently, and was a great option after a long day biking to town. We happened in on a Wednesday night and it was $1 slice night, so we fed the whole family for under $10...for good pizza in Vail? We were stoked!

I was a bit concerned when I heard that the property didn't have A/C, but as we are nearing the cool fall here, we just left the windows and screen patio door open at night and during the day and were actually quite comfortable. We also liked that the property was located right on one of the main bike paths that took us into Vail each day. Very easy to navigate all parts of Vail from this location.

We were very content and excited about this much needed vacation. Good spot, everything you need, just not a lot of frills, but you can find frills pretty much everywhere in town, so I guess no frills just kept us humble ;0)

Room Tip: Rooms on the back side of the property are quieter.

This resort located just north of I70 is dated but adequate. It is well located as long as you have a car, a mile from the grocery and two miles from Vail village or Lionshead, the free resort shuttle does not run in the summer. The two major complaints which we had were no air conditioning and the single lift which was either a long time in coming or broken down, minor complaints were the wifi, very slow, and no washer dryer in the unit. We had a studio with loft which slept seven and was very comfortable for my wife and myself, it is a studio so don't expect privacy if there are more than a couple in the unit. The minuscule kitchen is very well equipped. The public areas are quaint and cosy. Vail Run is what it is, dated but adequate, and it does not pretend to be anything else. One more thing, getting groceries to your unit is quite a challenge, the trolleys are kept in the basement behind a locked garage door!

We spent a week in this resort as a time share exchange. We came here after spending a week in Breckenridge in another time share that was pretty horrible. Imagine our surprise when we walked into a very spacious two story condo. It's considered a one bedroom loft with the living room and kitchen on the first floor and the beds and a powder room upstairs.

We spent all of our time downstairs and felt at home. Great balcony and large windows make the room light and comfortable. The kitchen has absolutely everything one would need. Two large supermarkets are within 5 minute drive. The Vail Village is within 5 minutes drive in a different direction.

The resort itself is not new and the parking lot is in a pretty bad shape, but it did not bother us as we did not use any facilities and were either inside, on the balcony, or out.

The reception is friendly and helpful. We loved this place and would stay again and again.

By the way, the beds were very comfortable and although there is no air conditioner, they will give you additional fans if you ask and it was quite comfortable. We loved it!

Room Tip: Our room faced the parking lot and was quiet and comfortable.

We were concerned after seeing all the reviews. But we had already booked the place so we decided to go.
We had two rooms one facing 70 and one on the other side. The room facing 70 was noisy but we all were able to sleep. The fans kept the rooms very cool. We had a great time at the pool hot tub And game room. I would recommend this resort to anyone who wants to go to vail

This resort was clean and decent. It is dated, but we are laid back and just wanted it to be comfortable. Overall, it was. The mattresses were VERY uncomfortable. The staff were not rude, but they surely didn't go out of their way to be nice-very laid back. We did enjoy the pizza place downstairs where the staff was very nice. The parking lot is very rough. If you just want a clean, decent place to rest your head and focus on the village itself-I would go for it.

My family just returned from a 7 night stay at Vail Run. My parents exchanged points in their timeshare program to stay here.

Overall, it was a very enjoyable and comfortable stay. We stayed in a penthouse on floor 5. It was very large and accomodated our family of 6 people with it's 3 bedrooms and loft (with 3 additional twin beds). It was very clean with comfortable furnishings (minus the beds).

The common areas were very nice with comfortable seating, toys for the kids, coffee and lemonade. The pool and hot tun area were excellent and we spent many afternoons there. Comfortable patio furniture and new grills were great additions!

The staff was capable but not great. They didn't seem super excited about their jobs (at least learn to fake it!) but got the job done.

While I enjoyed our stay I do have a few complaints regarding the overall quality of the building. A previous poster mentioned how run down the parking lot was and is absolutely correct. It looks very shabby and does not leave a positive impression. The walk up the ramp is dangerous as you cannot see oncoming traffic. And why are we being charged $50 a week for parking in an empty garage when the city of Vail offers free parking?

The interior of the resort itself, while clean and comfortable, needs a cosmetic facelift. The salmon pink walls need to go.

The building only offers one elevator which breaks down occasionally and is VERY slow.

The WiFi is a joke. I saw a small modem duct taped to a beam on the 5th floor. We didn't get a strong enough signal to run the internet in our room.

During the week of our stay, the resort had flowers that looked ready to be planted that were left sitting in trays. No one ever bothered to plant them. Is there no landscapers or maintenance people? The job was just left half done.

Our room lacked screens on several windows, another maintenance issue (or lack thereof). Also, our room faced I-70 and the sound of traffic was extremely loud. Since we couldn't open our windows (for lack of screen and also due to the sound of semis traveling down the interstate) no one ever got a great nights sleep because the rooms got so warm and stuffy. There are no ceiling fans and the oscillating fans provided just don't get the job done. Finally, beds are extremely uncomfortable. Very hard mattresses.

My final complaint is regarding the balcony. The guard rail on the balcony is NOT SAFE for children. It does not provide rails that are narrow enough to prevent a small child from falling through. Since we were on the 5th floor and had two small kids this was an extremely dangerous place. I cannot believe this hasn't been taken care of.
