Last week my friend and I stayed at the Sebastian. We enjoyed our stay very much. The room was nice and the hotel is warm and inviting. What really made our stay so special however was the staff. Every single staff member that we encountered was polite, kind and could not be more friendly. From the waiter bringing drinks at the hot tub, the chef preparing a special pasta dish, the concierge helping with food recommendations, a floor manager confirming a airport ride for us and the spa desk personnel fitting me into the schedule, we were impressed time after time with the level of service. Dean was especially helpful and accommodating to us. Thank you for the great service. The staff is the reason we will return to the Sebastian for our next ski trip.

Room Tip: Choose this hotel. You won't be sorry.

We stayed here for a ski holiday in jan.every single member of staff was friendly and helpful the attitude being nothing was too much trouble.the base camp ski locker was great not having to walk anywhere in ski boots was fantastic and if we wanted them brought over to the hotel they arrived on time.Having read other reviews I can only say our room was quiet and comfortable always cleaned and serviced. This place is fantastic and the staff and management deserve 10/10!

Prime location right in the village near quaint shops, galleries and restaurants. There is also a free intown bus that stops all over the village.

The hotel interior warm, and interesting. I feel as though I'm staying in a millionare's ski lodge. Dark woods, stone, fireplaces, bookcases filled with novels and artifacts, backgammon tables.... It's the cozy lodge that I was hoping for.

The service was wonderful. When I was checking in, the clerk asked if I was here for skiing. I said, unfortunately not--that I was working in the hospital. And he drove me to work.

The hotel has restaurants, cafes, spas.... had everything but a small convenience store; but the center of the village is right outside the door.

And for skiers, the chairlift is right across the street.

I will definitely stay here if I return to Vail.

We hired ski gear from the hotel at its snow side Base Camp. They were probably the most expensive ski hire I have ever had and the demo skis were certainly not top notch racing or all mountain skis. They kind of know you are locked into their service so it is what it is. The very high cost of hire makes it hard to want to put your hand in your pocket for the inevitable tip.

The hotel itself is lovely although the Block 16 restauarant only had one steak on the menu for $67 so we never ate there. We did eat a couple of times at the more reasonable Market Place, but headed out of the hotel for a broader choice menu.

Our 3 bedroom apartment could not be faulted with 2 levels and a nice outlook. Ask for a mountain view room. Our friends had a 3 bedroom room out the back with a noisy view of the I70. The pool and spas were nice for an apres ski soak, but the spas were set at a pretty tewpid temperature.

These are minor notes in an otherwise lovely stay. We would definitely go back.

Room Tip: Try to get a mountain view room

The Sebastian is truly worthy of its reputation, in a town where quality is beyond expected.

Your first impression of the hotel including Valet area and lobby is extraordinary. Very nicely decorated and truly gives that luxurious mountain lodge feel. In fact this is one of the only hotels i have ever spent time just sitting in the lobby reading, its that nice.

Check in was simple and up to the room. Getting to the room was a bit inconvenient as the rooms are not situated on a straight corridor but rather a winding circle layout. Not really a big deal however if you plan on coming and going to your room often it may take a while. The layout however does seem to make the rooms and hallway area seem more private. Our room was located on the inner side of the hallway and as a result seemed to be looking over a very tiny courtyard of some sort which really just made the view a roof/ exterior wall of the hotel.

Again not really a big deal because you are in Vail, and should be out enjoying everything. The rooms are comfortable with fridges, comfy beds, etc. The bathroom is very nice and provides very nice amenities. (The shampoo bottles are like 20$ if you want to take them, that's how nice they are)

The hotel is located at the norther part of the small village (farthest part from the slopes) but since it was Summer, this did not really make for a huge concern. The hotel is truly in the middle of this wonderful ski village. Everything in both Vail village and the adjoining lions head village is easily within walking distance. The pool looked quite nice although we did not use it. Because the hotel is so far north, it literally sits right up against the highway. We did not notice an issue, although i imagine if your room was on the northern side of the hotel it could be a problem.

In the summer parking in the Vail Village parking garage is free. Its a short walk, but you may want to drop your bags off first, if you opt for this over the valet parking.

This hotel delivers in going out of their way for customer service. The hotel staff on every level is polite, courteous and goes out of the way to make you feel welcome. The hotel itself is beautiful and very clean. Although this is not a ski in/ski out location they do have a base camp right by the lift which stores your skis, etc. overnight. The rooms were clean and tastefully done. We booked our trip on Vail.com and obtained a great rate otherwise we would not have been able to stay here. The Sebastian delivers!

Our stay at the Sebastian-Vail was wonderful! We enjoyed the beautiful decor, luxury, ambience, and entire property and staff as well. It was what I expected from my experiences at other five star establishments. It was like lodging in an ultra chic Nordstroms.
The complimentary cookies, fruit, and wireless internet access water were all very much appreciated.
I would have liked to have seen a better value for the dining options that were available (block 16 was not yet open). It would have encouraged me to spend more per meal and to dine more on-site, as opposed to going other places.

thank you,
Cedrick & Nikki

Room Tip: If available, request a room with a view of the mountains or something, prior to your arrival.
