“Great place to stay”
Reviewed 2 August 2013 via mobile

Landmark was recommended to me by a friend who said it was a good value in Lionshead Village. Well my expectations were exceeded when we arrived. The front lobby is nicely appointed, the staff was very helpful. When we arrived in our unit, a 2/2, it was very well appointed and updated. Very comfortable space for the three of us to hangout and a great deck with perfect views of Vail Mountain.

Love the underground parking, the pool and three hot tubs after a long day of hiking or biking. Super convenient to the gondola as well as restaurants. Vail Village is a nice 15 minute walk or a quick ride on the free in town bus.

If you want a. Ice safe and clean place that won't break the bank, the Landmark fits the bill perfectly.

A large group of us had rented condos here for a wedding and while others had good experiences, our specific condo stay was not a good experience.

We had requested early check in as part of the wedding party - ours was the LAST room ready of over 6 rooms, and the others were not in the wedding.
When went to go to bed and finally went in the bedrooms - all the linens were dirty - drool on pillow shams, bodily fluid stains on bedspread and a LOT of hair & wrinkles on sheets.
There is NO front desk staff after a certain hour, looked for over 30 minutes in condo to locate anything that had an after-hours number on it. Called the after hours line and they said they would send a fax to the office. Waited 30 minutes and called back and was told the office is closed this late at night. Requested the on-call person and was told no - "I am not willing to risk my job for this non-emergency" After a few more minutes she finally agreed to call the on-call person. We received fresh linens over 2 1/2 hours after we initially reported the problem.

I have to say that the on-call person was great and the follow up the next day with housekeeping was very good - but the fact that we even had to deal with this, with little kids in our room not getting to go to bed until 1am was terrible.

In addition to the dirty linens, the master bedroom had no ceiling fan, only a box fan in the closet we had to plug in. The locks didn't work on the sliding glass door to the balcony - excellent for little kids right? No AC in the unit. Ceiling fan did not work in 2nd bedroom. No ceiling fan in third bedroom. Bodily fluid stains on mattress of master bedroom. MIssing remotes to TVs, Dishes and pots and pans were dirty! Just a mess!

Room Tip: If you choose to stay here and are traveling in summer, request a room with AC.

I was so impressed by how friendly and helpful the staff was at the Landmark Condominiums during our recent stay. I'm used to Vail being rather standoffish and bordering on rude when dealing with the front desk. This stay renewed my faith in good customer service. Great location in Lionshead, steps away from shopping and the free bus. Good view of Vail mountain from the units. The only complaint is that some of the rooms in the 4 bed, 4 bath unit were very small and spartan.

The pictures were not at all what what we got. The three bedrooms and bathrooms were updated and spacious, but the living area was tiny. The pictures showed nice dining areas with tables that seated 6-8. The first unit we received had a tiny little table pushed up against the wall with three chairs around it. They upgraded us to a three bedroom at no cost (which was nice) when I complained but the second place wasn't any better. This one had a picnic type table that was pushed up against the wall. in order to use it, you had to pull it out away from the wall and then you couldn't walk through from the kitchen to the living area.

Positives
The hotel itself was pretty nice with a nice pool and great location right in Lionshead. The staff was friendly and upgraded our room. Room was updated. Decent bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen.

Negatives

Size of eating areas, very limited kitchen supplies (plates, etc), no air conditioning - very hot in the summer, extremely noisy with the bus stop and parking lot right outside one balcony (lots of delivery/trash trucks) and 1-70 on the other balcony. It is not a fitness center - 3 pieces of cardio equipment, a bench, a few free weights and no air conditioning.

Maybe is doable when you ski and don't need air conditioning and don't want to enjoy your deck, but not great in the summer

Room Tip: Maybe try a room above the pool instead of where we were - Room 218. It might be quieter.

Dear Kimberly_0120,

Our objective is for each of our guests to have an enjoyable vacation experience. I am so very sorry that we did not meet your expectations during your recent visit with us at the Landmark Condominiums. As all of our condominiums are individually owned, we currently have a “Browse Specific Condo” on our website at www.destinationresortsvail.com with the option to choose specific condos allowing you to select the best accommodations to fit your needs. Please consider this option if you choose to stay with us again at Destination Resorts Vail, as we would love to make your next stay with us much more pleasurable. In regards to our fitness center, unfortunately we do not have AC, however I will speak with management to ensure that we have more fans available to try to keep our guests as cool as possible.

Sincerely,
Aubrey and the Staff at Destination Resorts Vail

The Landmark Resort is in a great location surrounded by top notch resorts. This is our second time staying at the Landmark and we picked it primarily because of its fantastic location in Lions Head and because it was 40% off for the week.

As mentioned, the location is great as Moe's is steps away for great lunch and Lionshead is just a few steps further. The lobby is nice. The pool and hot tubs are great too as they offer a scenic view while the kids play. The pool is good range from 2'6" all the way to 7'. There are 3 hot tubs in varying temps and with a nice view of Vail mountain. This is why we returned here.

The rooms are hit or miss. In our group we had a total of 5 different rooms ranging from one bedroom to 3 bedrooms. The three bedroom condos are fully equipped with all the luxuries. If you need the space these are great. The two bedrooms were fairly outdated. Part of our group that stayed in a two bedroom switched rooms mid week because of stains on the wall which made it unpleasant. The other one and two bedrooms were partially renovated and there was nothing fancy about them.

Overall the stay was pleasant and it was the most affordable for the location. I would stay there again for the right price but probably not at full price.

Very nice updated 2 bedroom, 2 bath unit on the 4th floor with close access to the slopes. Enjoyed the location very much, no need for a car we were able to walk or ride the free bus. Landmark has a small grocery store that was perfect for our needs. The kids enjoyed the pool and hot tubs!
Our only complaint about the unit was the second bedroom's tempature was at 80 the entire week and we had the heat off. They provide a fan but it was too loud to run everynight. The Master backs on almost to the highway so you hear the traffic.

I was a bit worried when I got on the elevator, but when we opened the door the inside was beautiful. Granite countertops, all tile & glass bathrooms, plush bedroom, and big screen TVs. It's about a four minute walk to the gondola once you get down the elevator. Our place didn't include a ski locker for some reason, but since this place includes parking on the garage level, we just locked them inside the car. Super convenient, covered parking. Definitely will keep this one on the list when we plan our return trip.
