“Great Condo and Ski Trip”
Reviewed 8 March 2012

My son and I stayed at Manor Vail Lodge last week. The condo was a studio, but the bed was in a separate room with a sliding door. The condo was completely updated - beautiful new kitchen with granite counter tops, all new appliances, tile floors, new bathroom, everything completely redecorated with king bed, murphy bed, 2 flat screen TVs, gas fireplace grill on balcony. We had daily maid service, including making up our beds, cleaning the condo and new linens every day. Room was very quiet, hardly heard anyone at night. Great location across the street from Golden Peaks ski lift. Nice bar at the lodge with half price drafts from 3-6. Full breakfast every morning. Not fabulous, but plenty to eat, including made to order omelettes. All of the staff was pleasant and helpful. Skiing was great including 6 inches of snow our 4th day.

Seven of us stayed here for a week (Feb 28 - Mar 6, 2012) and we enjoyed ourselves immensely. The unit we stayed in (#251) was super clean with everything we needed to cook and serve for all of us. The bell staff took us to the grocery store and came back to get us. The concierge (Marty) made arrangements for dinners, etc. The location at the base of Riva Bahn chair can't be beat. It is close to skiing but not in the hustle and bustle of the middle of Vail Village. But everything is close enough to walk or take the free bus service that is right across the street. Yes, breakfast is in what appears to be a convention meeting room, but it was fresh and hot and included in the price of our stay. The service at breakfast was great. Would I stay there again? YOU BET!!!

I had specifically asked for a room with a Murphy bed rather than a pull out couch for the 2nd person in our one bedroom condo. I had confirmed this twice verbally with 2 different reservation people as late as the day before arrival. Well, when I arrived I got a room with a pull out couch which is the worst possible thing for my back. They did not have another one bedroom condo to switch me to. Oh well, I guess the old saying, "your word is your bond" doesn't exist at the Manor Vail. For such an expensive place, you would think they would be more accommodating or at least offer a credit for screwing up. Instead they made me feel like a liar because they didn't have written record in their notes that I had made such a request. So make sure you get everything in writing with these guys. The only positive thing was location but all in all the place is fairly run down and even the dining area for breakfast was old and grimy with table cloths and silverware that seemed to have dirt and grease caked on them. The walls are extremely thin so bring ear plugs. Next year its back to vail cascades for me.

Room Tip: any promises should get in writing.

Thank you for your response. Manor Vail Lodge is a condominium property with each unit individually owned and decorated. We don’t normally guarantee bedding during busy dates due to the limited number of specific bedding types available. We apologize for the inconvenience. Our staff works to accommodate guest requests in order of importance. We invite you to give us another chance in hopes that we can exceed your expectations.

The service at Manor Vail on this business trip was wonderful! It was really cold and windy and the bellman gave us a ride to Bridge street. I had great service at the bar. The bartenders were friendly and expedient.

Our family stayed here for a week in December of 2011. The condo is actually owned by friends and we have skied in many locations in the Rockies. Manor Vail really has it all! We just walked across the street to the Golden Peak lift and ski school. The restaurant, Lord Gore was really good, and had great selections for adults and kids alike. Our girls loved going to the pool and hot tub after a day of skiing and complimentary hot chocolate with cookies that were available every afternoon. The staff at Manor Vail were great, friendly and helpful! We also enjoyed the short walk to Vail Village to shop and eat at the variety of restaurants that were available. Great ski vacation!!!

The staff all wore a smile during any interaction. My room was amazing wonderful kitchen and very clean. The bar and wait staff were great after a day of riding the slopes. Not quite ski in ski out, but in my opinion better because by being 60 yards from the slopes the property and it's amenities we're much more private. Short walk to vail village and amazing art galleries, just as short and convenient shuttle ride to Lions Head. Looking to make an annual summer/winter visit. Anything less then excellent to very good reviews are hard to believe.

Room Tip: My room was listed as a studio however it had a room divider which easily would make it two rooms an...

We enjoyed a weekend stay at Manor Vail in September of 2011. End of summer is a great time to visit Vail - beautiful, lush scenery, no crowds, and plenty of places to hike. We got a great deal from Manor Vail and enjoyed a huge suite, complete with fully equipped kitchen, a large and comfortable sitting area w/fireplace and a huge, comfy bed. Our back patio looked out on the woods behind the hotel and you could hear the sounds of a small stream nearby. We arrived at night to crisp air and a sky littered with stars.

The next morning, we were pleasantly surprised to find that there was a wooden bridge directly out our back door that crossed through Betty Ford Park - an amazing green space filled with art sculptures and an incredible botanic garden that most visitors to Vail probably never even see. This walking trail takes you past the river and directly into the center of the town.

The room itself was clean, cozy and filled with amenities, and we were able to park our car on property, avoiding the ridiculously expensive parking garages around town. The on-site gym was adequate and there is even a spa for guests interested in massages, facials, etc.

The only negative to a summer visit is that the restaurants at Manor Vail are closed in the off-season, but during our stay, most of the eating establishments in town were offering between 30-50% off of meals to attract diners.

We would definitely visit again.

Room Tip: Rooms at the rear of the property are closest to the park and are very quiet.
