“Great spot”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 June 2014

A beautiful hotel located directly adjacent to the base of Vail Mountain, this was a great spot for summer fun, and seems like it would be top notch in winter. Luxurious hotel with a full spa, the "Avalanche" bar, and full ski valet service in winter that will bring your skis to and from the hotel to the nearby gondola. We visited in June of 2014 and this hotel was in a great location in Lionshead Village, directly adjacent to numerous restaurants and shops. There is no "commissary" like you would find in a normal Marriott property, but a full store located just by the pool that sells merchandise, some basic sundries, and rents equipment in summer like a full array of mountain bikes. We instead rented from "Wheel Base" in the nearby village, and they were quite helpful and reasonably priced. We had a great day taking our bikes up the gondola and mountain biking down the mountain with two adults and two kids, ages 11 and 13, and the rental place was just steps from the hotel, as is the gondola. Great service at the hotel, with some beautiful outdoor features like gas log fire pits and one indoor, as well as one outdoor heated pool, each with a large hot tub. "Resort fee" of $15.00 seemed a bit much for daily internet service and some discounts in the spa and shop, and the hotel is valet-only, for $27 per night, but parking is at a premium in Vail anyway. All in all a beautiful property with gorgeous views of the mountain from the rooms on the backside of the hotel.

We stayed here five nights in March and skied every day except our last day. We loved our room which was a junior suite. It had a sitting area with a fireplace. We were able to push the coffee table out of the way and I could do yoga every morning before hitting the slopes. The room was also equipped with a fridge. Outdoor pool was heated and the hot tub was HOT. The shuttle stops in front of the hotel so you can take that to the next village. We parked our car at a municipal lot to avoid the hefty parking fees.

What more can I say - it is an excellent Marriott property!

Room Tip: Upgrade to a junior suite if you want more room and a sitting area with couch and fireplace

Stayed here for one night on the way out of Vail. I think if you have a family, stay in Lionshead. The prices for restaurants are a little cheaper than Vail Village and most of the kid related activities are at the top of Lionshead gondola. The Marriott was clean, nice, and a welcome change coming from the Lodge at Vail. It was newer, lively bar, and nice pool. The room was nice. Nothing special, a newer hotel room. Bike rental at the hotel with 30% off was a nice perk. They guy at the bike rental was very helpful. Drinks at the bar were pricey at $12 for a margarita, but it is Vail, everything is pricey. Water pressure was not great. The water in our room got warm, but not hot. Gym was nice, did not get to use it, but the size was decent. Think I saw a sign for a indoor pool, but never made it over there. Overall, a nice hotel that I would consider staying at again.

We just returned from a 3 night couples weekend here. We booked one of the 2 bedroom condos. Checkin was a breeze, and our room was on floor 5. It had a living and dining room alomg with a kimg bedroom and full kitchen. The second bedroom is a basic hotel room connnected to the comdo via attached doorway. The second bedroom was nicely decorated, as was the condo.

The first night we had a noise issue due to some guests coming in quite late, and Lisa at the front desk was very helpful and gave us a free breakfast the mext morning. The food was incredible and I appreciate her help. As a frequent marriott customer I also appreciate the friendly staff. The hotel had great amenities like gym, indoor and outdoor pool, great concierge, etc.

It is also right in the heart of lionshead villge. A 2 minute walk to the ski lift, restaurants and bars. Right off of I70 amd minutes from beaver creek also, by car.

The only complaints I have are small ones. The bedroom was always so cold. Freezing. The second bedroom, which is just another hotel room, had a door to the hallway with a gap at the bottom so big you could put your hand through. The bathroom was also very dark, amd the light bulb went out our past day.

Overall, We loved it here and would return soon. Vai
Is an amazing place and I would reccommend this hotel to anyone.

The resort is beautiful! Well situated with scenic grounds and vistas. We traveled there for a business conference and were happy to learn that our rooms were ready when we arrived, so we could relax after a long day of traveling.

The hotel staff were all very friendly and accommodating. Most were very knowledgeable of the area, sites to visit, places to eat, shuttle schedule etc.

The draw backs were that there was construction directly across the street making it very noisy during the day and the hotel restaurant was very pricey, not offering any kind of off season discount so we chose to eat elsewhere.

A real bonus and very handy was the free shuttle that takes you into Vail Village!

Overall it was a very pleasant stay!

Room Tip: As for a room facing the mountains!

The hotel is within walking distance of Lionshead Village, with shopping, restaurants, play areas, gondola and more. The bus which goes to the other resort villages stopped right in front of our lobby, making it very convenient to go anywhere. The bus ran from 6:30am to 1:00am at approximate 10 minutes intervals.

Our guest room was nice and clean with a generous sized bathroom. The beds were comfortable and the room was quiet. There was a nice mountain view. The room was somewhat smaller than expected, with no easy chair, balcony or sofa - but a table with a couple of chairs that doubled as a desk. Fine for our purposes - we spent very little time in the room.

The food in the restaurant was very expensive, even for breakfast. Sandwiches and salads in the pub were fairly reasonable and excellent.

Swimming couldn't be better. Both indoor and outdoor heated pools. Plus one indoor and two outdoor whirlpools - very nice! The outdoor ones had a lovely setting and mountain view. There was a nice patio area with a fire pit going in the crisp cool evenings. It was also a great place to sit and enjoy a coffee in the mornings. Beautiful plants surrounding it all.

Service was exceptional in every area. Every staff person we had occasion to meet were very friendly and helpful.

This property is very nice. We were welcomed on our arrival and the room had a nice view on the 5th floor. The food was good and the staff were excellent. It was a perfect stay! There are a lot of restaurants nearby.

Room Tip: make sure you stay on the 3rd floor or above
