“Great Condo and location!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 September 2013

Beautiful condo and great location. My husband and I were there the day after Labor day for 4 nights and it was great. Slow time of year we had the place almost to ourselves. The staff was wonderful very friendly and helpful. Div and Claire were great made us feel welcomed and were extremely knowledgeable about the area. The pool and hot tub area was very relaxing. Over all we had a great experience and would highly recommend this place to friends and family:)

Room Tip: Montaneros is in a great central location

Soent a week there in July. It was our 4th time back and first summer. Lack og A/C posed NO problem...and we had fans if needed (they weren't). We stayed in room 420...only issue was it's directly above the bus stop and noisy with the windows open in the master bedroom. We look forward to our winter return to Montaneros in January 2014!

Room Tip: 3 to 4 floors on the lower number side gives you a better mountain view and are quieter!

Spent a week here in July (three adults and two children) in a two-bedroom, two-bath condo unit. We were located on the third floor with a view of the Eagle Bahn Gondola. The unit had a good sized balcony with plenty of room for a grill (provided) and seating area. Really enjoyed the COOL mornings and having coffee on the balcony. The unit was beautifully appointed and yet quite comfortable. Full kitchen with all the necessary utensils, etc. The location in LionsHead is perfect. Park your car and walk everywhere! Oh yes, one qualifier for the parking...we were driving a large ten-passenger van and the underground parking garage would not accommodate the van due to the sprinkler system pipes lowering the acceptable vehicle height - bummer! We had to park the van in the public parking garage for the week! Also, it's not that easy to find the place, as you have to enter through the underground garage, which was strange. We did, however, appreciate the safe bike storage area in the garage. Maid service was provided on a daily basis, if needed. The only drawback was the maids did not speak English (that I could ascertain), so if we had actually NEEDED something that could have presented a problem. The Concierge Staff varies from EXCELLENT to SO-SO. The young man who checked us in was rather aloof, especially when we discovered we didn't "fit" in the garage. The only female staff member we encountered barely acknowledged us when we walked through the lobby. On the other hand, the two STARS of the Staff are Div and Jeff. These two young men are real "Ambassadors" for Montenaros and Vail. What a delight they were! I always appreciate when someone is professional, yet has a sense of humor. Both of these guys scored a big TEN with the whole family. They are definitely KEEPERS! We would stay at Montenaros again for sure. The only real unpleasantness occurred when the (probably a two-year-old) in the unit on the floor above us continued to scream and slam the screen door to the patio...and this went on for thirty minutes or more on several occasions with no correction by the parents. Looking forward to another visit!

Good central location in Lionshead. Close to Gore Creek bike trail. Friendly and helpful staff. Heated pool and two hot tubs. Secure underground parking and bike storage. Very well furnished. Originally thought lack of A/C would be a problem, but with morning temps in the forty's in August, it was not. Reasonably priced, quiet condo. Would stay there again.

We were given a third floor, 1 bedroom condo overlooking the pool courtyard (the kids loved the pool and 2 hot tubs) and with a nice mountain view. Well furnished with a small but adequately equipped kitchen. No A/C but the cool mountain air and ceiling fans were adequate except for the bedroom which occasionally became stuffy during our July stay. The Montaneros is located in the center of the Lionshead village, literally steps away from several restaurants, wine shop, convenience store, and upscale shopping. This also included the main gondola lift. There was a designated parking spot in the condo's underground garage. Excellent value and recommended.

When skiing with friends at Vail, we usually stay at the Lionsquare Lodge, and have been very happy with it. Since there was construction at Lionsquare this winter, they had fewer available rooms. So the Montaneros (also run by the same company) was recommended to us. It turned out great! We stayed in a very nice 2 bedroom, 2 level condo with all the expected amenities. It was very clean, the bathrooms were great, and the beds comfortable. Initially a few minor things were wrong with the unit, but the front desk attended to them promptly. Wifi was a problem for one of my friends trying to use her iPad, but I don't think that had been an issue for other guests. The maid service was very good. Montaneros is not quite as convenient for ski storage as the Lionsquare Lodge was (just a little farther away up a hill; not a huge problem!), so we ended up leaving our skis at the place we rented them from, which was steps away from the Gondola. The apres-ski popcorn (and I think maybe cookies, too) was a nice touch. Access to the bus into town was awesome.

Room Tip: Ask for a mountain view room with balcony.

I recently stayed at Montaneros Condiminiums for a week with my husband and our 12 year old son. We started out in a one bedroom that was clean and nicely furnished. It had some view of the mountain. Then, on our first day skiing, I fell on the ice and broke my arm. I ended up in the ER and then had surgery. When I got out of the hospital, we asked for a larger room. They were able to move us into a one bedroom with a loft for not too much extra. We had a great view of the mountain, and this one was also quite comfortable and nicely furnished. We must commend Div, the concierge, who really went out of his way to be helpful. He found us two very nice local women who traded on and off helping me get to and from PT and also buying me lunch, keeping me company, etc. It made a wierd situation so much more bearable. The location is very good. the bus stop is right there and there are also many good restaurants a short stroll away. The gondola is a short stroll also. My only criticism is that the hallways at night can be a bit noisy. Also, they are outdoor hallways, not indoor.

Room Tip: Ask for a view of the mountain.
