Let me start this review by saying that overall Simba Run is an excellent condo and is probably one of the nicest , reasonably priced lodging options in Vail. The condo we stayed in was nicely furnished , clean and comfortable. Yes - it did overlook I-70 - but we also had the best view of Vail out our living room window of the 3 places I've stayed previously. We enjoyed watching the skiers, snow cats and other activities out the huge window. Originally I was concerned whether the shuttle service would be a problem since we've been to other resorts where the shuttle takes forever to show up. At Simba Run that was definitely not a problem - the shuttle service was outstanding.

So the first night we stayed here the fire alarm went off at 11:30 pm and we had to "run" out of the building yanking my sleeping two year old son out of his crib. Smoke filled the. Hallways and our room. It was scary but turned out to be a false alarm - some ding dong had started a fire in the fireplace without opening the flue. Later in the week - a similar incident occurred around 8:30 pm. This time it was someone's cooking that got out of control. So if you stay at Simba Run I can guarantee that their fire alarm system works - which can be a good and bad thing at the same time. Condos burn down all the time so I guess it's better to be safe than sorry.

Other amenities that are available are a gigantic heated pool, massive indoor and outdoor jacuzzis, covered parking, a Starbucks machine in the lobby, and free movies.

Yes - there nicer places to stay in Vail - but they will be three times as expensive. So if you can handle a few minor annoyances Simba Run is a good option.

Why does my family return to Simba Run year after year? Because it provides comfort, convenience, and value. The hotel has all the facilities one could want: pool, indoor and outdoor jacuzzis, free in-room internet, modern, comfortable, beautifully maintained condominium "homes," and frequent shuttle buses to the nearby slopes. For the price of a hotel "room," in many other facilities, Simba Run offers a two-bedroom condo, with a full kitchen, living room/dining area, fireplace and terrace, not to mention that most suites provide TV's and DVD players in the living room and both bedrooms. Having to take a shuttle bus to the slopes is a small price to pay for all the amenities Simba Run offers at reasonable prices.

We've been spending a yearly week at Simba for many years and find that they have been keeping up to date. Free wireless internet in all the rooms works very well now, and the whirlpool and pool areas have been renovated and are now well heated. Starbucks Coffee machine is a plus, and the shuttle bus is very available. Many rooms have newly renovated kitchens and bathrooms, with new flooring and furniture.

Room Tip: The flat rooms are more spacious than the duplexes, but the duplex provides excellent privacy for occupants of one bedroom.

Been staying at Simbarun for our ski week every January for the past 7 years. The experience there was awesome. the staff is great especially Michelle who we've know for many years. The condo is very clean and modern. The indoor pool is great for laps. The shuttle to the slopes is the best and the condo rates are great. Will be going back next year.

Jan 26- Feb 2 My wife and I were the trip leaders for 29 members for our ski club. It was one of the smoothest trips we have run. The 7 units we used for 7 nights were very nice for the price point we paid. The shuttle vans (2) were spot on as far as getting people to & from the slopes and around town for dinner and shopping.

The large indoor pool was average temperature, but the kids seemed to enjoy. The two hot tubs (indoor & outdoor) were both of the 15-20 person size and nice temperature. Most of our rooms were on the upper two floors which gave you a nice view of the Vail Valley. The full wall windows and sliding glass doors in the living room did a very good job of keeping freeway noise to a minimum. Others have said something about the noise, but I thought it was a non-issue. The bedrooms are on the backside of the units and were very quite. I didn't receive any complaints from any of my club members about their units. The 5 units I viewed were fresh and not beat up. All had granite counter tops.

The location is not in Lionshead, but is across the freeway from Cascade Village area. The only negative would be the Wi-Fi was under powered during prime time. But I have never been to a place yet with good Wi-Fi....In past trips we have stayed closer to the Village, but total trip price dictated a more to the Simba Run property....which worked out very well...We used the conference room for a catered party supplied by Moe's BBQ, which was top notch.

I just hope Vail doesn't price the average skier out of the market. I would return here if the price is right.
