“What a beautiful place!”

Cedar Cove Resort is open year-round, offers boat & cottage/trailer rentals, maintains a sandy family beach, has a marina with a gas bar and a brand-new store/reception building with a great restaurant/bar and an outdoor pool! They even have a new chip-truck called the Fireside Grill that makes a pretty decent version of poutine with real cheese curds!

The lakeside cottages are well maintained and have all of the amenities that allow you to kick back, relax and enjoy Canadian nature at it's finest! (enclosed fire-pit, barbecue, fully furnished cottage and deck area, screened windows and oscillating fan, fireplace, full-size refrigerator and more!)

This place is family owned and you can definitely feel it in the comfortable atmosphere and care they put in to maintaining the property.

The only addition I would love to see would be a full-service fish cleaning shack with running water and waste disposal.

White lake is a magical place and Cedar Cove is the perfect way to explore it - Highly recommended!

TIP - The Canada Day fireworks show (worth $4000) from the beach area is truly spectacular! A good, low-key alternative to Parliament Hill.

We just had our Christmas staff function at Cedar Cove last week - 14 couples.

Owners Wes and Carol went out of their way to ensure that our evening was a success.

The dining area recently went through some serious renovations, and the attention to detail is evident everywhere.

The view is spectacular. I could only imagine how things would look during different seasons.

The food was amazing. I am not a foodie. I enjoy a good steak. This steak was the best one I have had for years.

The bar is well stocked and the servers both infront and behind it are friendly and courteous.

I know that they have different functions throughout the year (New Year's Eve, Valentines, Mother's Day etc) so i suggest if anyone is into something different, check it out.

They also rent ice-huts for fishing as one of the sons is a skilled guide and I am sure that his skills get used in the summer months as well.

Cottage are available for rent too, but I they book up very quickly.
A little out of the way, but worth every minute.

There are two "Cedar Cove Resorts" in Ontario - one on White Lake in Lanark County and one on Rice Lake in Harland/Northumberland. This listing has photos and reviews from both so its hard to tell which is which. We recently stayed at the one on White Lake. It has 30 sites for trailers/tents. The sites are very close together mixed in with permanent residents. The owners do their best but unfortunately we had a bad experience due to some loud inconsiderate campers this past weekend - staff don't seem to be able to enforce their 11pm quit time policy. There is a restaurant and chip truck onsite and boat lauch facilities - we reserved a boat for 2 hours per their website (http://www.cedarcove.ca/) and then were told they don't do 2 hour rentals - staff seemed to not know what was what. Their camping prices are a high, roughtly 55/night. Overall it wasant a terrible experience, the staff were pleasant and the washroom facilities were clean and close by. With all thay said I don't think we will be back.

The address in the heading is incorrect - it's White Lake near Pakenham, Ontario.

They should not call themselves a resort. We did not rent a cottage, we camped using our travel trailer. For the price they charged, I was expecting alot better. We were camping with 2 other familes. Let's begin with the positive. The owner saw that our reservation would seperate us on the campground, so he changed our sites to ensure we would be together. He neglected to tell his staff however and that caused confusion upon check-in. Not a big deal. The beach was ok, and well maintained. It is rocky though, bring water shoes. The store was small but well stocked. The laundry room was clean. The young people on staff were friendly and tried their best. Now the bad, and there's alot. Upon check-in we were not given a list of activities or a calendar, it was only on our second last day did I approach the office and asked what was going on, they then proceeded to show me where they kept the list of activities for kids. The activities looked like fun, too bad we missed everything. Suggestion: upon check-in why don't you provide guests with the activities list along with the list of rules, they didn't forget that. The pool was infested with ants, leaves and dirt, this got into the pool making it constantly filthy. The pool needs a major overhaul, it should be condemned. There was always a lingering smell of garbage while sitting by the pool.
We were camping near the main interior road of the resort. No one, but one obeys the speed limit, constant traffic including the never ending maintenace workers - they were the worst drivers. We have been camping a long time, and never have we seen so much traffic, it felt like rush hour. The dust that this traffic created was unbelivable, we thought we were in a sand storm. Our vehicle and trailer were caked in dust. I could go on, but enough said.
