“A Must-Stay”
Reviewed 12 October 2011

Nestled against a backdrop of Autumn-kissed trees and overlooking downtown Keystone, the Winter Park Chateau is an inviting place to stay while exploring the majestic Rocky Mountains. Owners Gary and Laura are exceptionally helpful upon arrival, with a seamless check-in and tour of their charming bed and breakfast. A nutritious morning meal, sparkling bathroom, and a good night's rest rounded out my wish list for the perfect weekend getaway. My expectations were surpassed as I climbed into the hot tub under the stars with a glass of champagne in hand after an adventurous day of biking, hiking and shopping. I am counting the days until I shred the slopes at the resort and find myself relaxing once more at the WP Chateau.

We loved this B and B. Laura was very friendly and made us feel welcome. Our room was pleasant and clean. We had our own private entrance which was nice. It is in a great location and within walking distance of shops and places to dine. We enjoyed the evening wine and cheese and really enjoyed visiting with the other guests. Breakfast was delicious. We would dfinitely stay there again.

My husband and I wanted to go somewhere close for a nice get-a-way for the weekend. We found the WP Chateau on groupon and it was a done deal. Immediately when we arrived, we were welcomed by Laura and she showed us to our room. The room was perfect! Minus the coal train early in the morning, but that didn't ruin our time at all! The breakfast was delicious and the afternoon "happy hour" was perfect after a long day at Rocky Mountain National Park. The living room was perfect for watching some afternoon football with the surround sound. Gred even made us fresh popcorn! We met a great couple and are now new friends! All in all a great weekend! We hope to be back again soon! Thank you Greg and Laura for a great time!

We arrived early at Winter Park Chateau and was greeted by Carol who was very welcoming and helpful. We had booked into 'Black Hawk' as we wanted a private balcony with access from car park as we had our mountain bikes with us. The room has a double and a single bed. The single bed was perfect to store our suitcases! It is a clean room, with a small bathroom and separate area with a washbasin and area to hang clothes. There is a huge flatscreen TV and fireplace.

The breakfast here is amazing, we had souffles, muffins, bacon, blueberry pancakes (not all on one morning!) Just aswell we were mountain biking to burn it all off. After a days biking, Carol told us to have a hot tub and brought us some wine and nibbles to enjoy, which was amazing. One of our days the weather was raining so Carol was on hand to offer tips and advice of things to do, she even printed off information from internet for us.

We went for dinner in town and also for a drive up to Devils Thumb in the evening to watch the sunset as a storm came in, it was beautiful (again, this was another Carol recommendation!)

My boyfriend and I have had a wonderful time here and Carol has made it very special, she is an asset to Laura and Greg (owners). If we come back to Winter Park, we will definitely stay here. Thanks to Carol for being the perfect host.

If there was one downside (and it is a small one), the house backs onto a train track and there are trains going through at night, just pack ear plugs and you will be fine!

We stayed at the WP Chateau for 1 night for our anniversary. It was a splurge, but in the end it was worth it.

There is a nice balcony with hot tub overlooking the town and valley of Winter Park. We arrived exhausted from a day of mountain biking, and Laura (the owner) sent a tray of wine and snacks up to the balcony for us to enjoy while we soaked in the hot tub. It was the perfect start to our stay at the B&B!

We stayed in the Aspen room which is right at the front of the house. We chose it because it was the only King room left - but I wouldn't choose it again because it was right next to the common areas and we could hear people talking. I would prefer a room upstairs with more privacy.

The bed was nice and comfortable, although I would have preferred a different selection of pillows (they were all very soft down pillows... I like something more firm). The furnishings and linens were all nice - no complaints there.

We only stayed one night so we only had one breakfast. There was fresh fruit, egg souffles, potatoes, toasted bagels, OJ, coffee and tea. I'm not big on eggs and potatoes and would have preferred a healthier option (oatmeal, whole-wheat pancakes, etc). Although - like I said this was just one breakfast so I'm not sure what other things are served.

Laura was a really nice host - answered my email questions promptly and politely. She even offered us a $25 gift certificate to one of 3 restaurants nearby. We chose the Mexican restaurant (Azteca) and it was great.

Overall I would recommend this B&B and would probably go back again for another special occasion.

My wife and I celebrated our 20th Anniversary at The Winter Park Chateau and had a great time. The property was very nice and sits on a hill overlooking the town. We loved our room and the great breakfast Laura made for us!

I booked a stay at this B&B because of all the great reviews and they are well deserved! My boyfriend and I travelled from NYC to attend a wedding in the neighboring town of Fraser.

The owners Laura and Greg were very hospitable, letting us check in early in order to get ready for the wedding later that afternoon. Upon arriving, they gave a tour of the chateau which was spacious and homey. Laura offered to take our photo while dressed in a wedding attire and Greg suggested a lovely restaurant to dine in the next day.

We stayed in the Durango room which had a large flatscreen with Direct TV, a comfortable queen sized bed and small bathroom, a great perk to this room is the balcony which leads to a drive up private entrance (this worked out well when we came back later in the night and didn't disturb any guests).

The breakfast delicious and different on each of the days we stayed, serving egg soufles and french toast, fresh fruit, sausage, fresh baked english muffins.. all SO YUMMY! We also loved the hot tub sitting on the front patio on the 2nd floor, the view looks directly at the mountains, and the Inn provides plush robes and slippers for those cooler (cold) nights. They also serve light appetizers and wine on the patio in the afternoon.

All in all, we LOVED this B&B, our hosts were so gracious, the food was fantastic, and the amenities are luxury at the very least. If we are ever in the Winter Park area again, this will be the place we stay!
