My wife and I live near Denver and try to do a 3-4 day getaway to the Colorado mountains at least once a month. The Winter Park area is one of our favorite destinations. The ski area is relatively unknown outside Colorado, but is widely viewed by Colorado skiers/boarders as one of the two or three best within the state. In winter, the area offers great nordic skiing and snow showing, tubing, etc...along with mountain vistas mixed with small town charm. In the summer, the proximity to Rocky Mountain National Park and to a vast array of outdoor activities makes it one our favorite destinations. The one downside for us has been the absence of nice accommodations outside the ski area...and particularly within walking distance of the restaurants and shops in town.
The Winter Park Chateau has solved that dilema for us. While you can hike or snowshow from a trail that starts out the back door, this B&B is located in the heart of Winter Park. The facility itself is upscale charming, and Greg, Laura and their staff are downhome charming. Each room is uniquely, but comfortably decorated, with upscale baths and modern features. The common areas include a cozy "family" room by the fire where my wife read books while I hit the slopes, along with a larger living room with multiple areas for small groups to gather. Breakfasts were both delicious and substantial. And the 5pm gatherings over a glass of wine and some tasty snacks were a real pleasure. Highly recommended!

It's a very nice bed and breakfast, which is centrally located in Winter Park, close to restaurants, shops, rentals and ski bus station. Laura and Greg were very nice and helpful hosts, giving advise on planning trips and also where you can get some good discount deals. They offer a very good breakfast and surprise you every day with something different. The place is newly renovated and has some nice features like a flatscreen TV and a chimney ensuite. Since they just started this business (they also have a sailing boat on the British Virgin Islands, what a strange move) they are always trying even to improve their very good service. The space is very well laid out and attention to detail is seen throughout. We definetely recomment this place and would like to come back.

I cant say enough about this bed and breakfast. Laura and Greg were exceptional hosts. The place is great as it is, but they are in the process of doing some improvements, to make it even better and more efficient for thier guests. The space is very well laid out and attention to detail is seen throughout ~ All the rooms are well appointed (she gave me a tour :]) and you get that at home feel as soon as you walk in the front door. You cant go wrong here!!!!

My husband and I were looking for a nice B&B in Winter Park and this is the only nice one in the Downtown. The property is located right in the heart of the town, so you can walk to everything. As we were there in the "off" season, we welcomed the ability to be in the middle of everything. (although there's not much happening in October). We were luck as the weather was perfect and we went on a long bicycle ride. (we rented bicylces right by the property). The room was beautiful. The furnishings were lovely, the room was large, clean and very inviting. The large television was great. My husband loves to watch tv in bed and this was really enjoyable. The breakfast was gourmet and the afternoon snacks were a bonus. We'll be back when it snows. We've stayed at many B&B's and this is one of the tops.
