“Townhouses were convenient for local travel”

We rented a townhouse as area is known for mountain biking. Location was perfect as many trails nearby as well as close to Granby Center. Visited the winery which had a good reasonable tasting fee. We also drove to Vail and Grand Lake for day trips. Condo is within walk of town center of Winter Park that offered dining and shopping as well.

We are two families consisting of 4 adults and 3 children aged between 11 and 19 and we were in Winter Park from December 27th until January 6th . We have previously stayed in condos (not in Winter Park) but the quality has been hit and miss, so this time we opted for a 3 bed/3 bath townhouse at Sawmill Station. It was privately owned, but we booked it though Vacations Inc. Although we arrived at about 11pm, the instructions on how to collect the key were clear and we were able to get into the accommodation with no trouble. Even though we were tired from our journey (about 25 hours since leaving home in the UK!), as we walked through the door we were instantly impressed. The furnishings and decor were of high quality, and we immediately felt 'comfortable'.
Each bedroom was en suite and had TV, DVD/Video plus plenty of hanging space. The lounge area also had TV, DVD/Video, and had a small bathroom off. There was a garage (heated) so we were able to store skis and boots in there without them being frozen by the following day! The kitchen was modern and well fitted, and there were also full laundry facilities on the top floor if needed.
The Sawmill Station area is directly on the shuttle route (blue line) and about 5 mins away from the slopes so it was easy to get there if you didn't want to drive. There were a number of restaurants within a 10-15 minute walk if you don't mind the exercise after a day on the slopes!
For younger children (and , if I'm honest, us older children later in the evening when the youngsters had all gone!) there is a play area a short walk away, with sled runs, which seemed very popular.
The small shopping centre, with restaurants, gifts etc is also about 5 minutes walk away so we felt as though everything we needed was conveniently close.
We all agreed it was the best ski accommodation we'd experienced, and will definitely use Sawmill again.
