Very nice and clean hotel. Very relaxing after a long day. Pool area was nice. Wonderful patio to enjoy. Breakfast had many choices, although very heavy in carbs. No elevator to second floor which wasn't made obvious on their website.

Stayed: June 2014, travelled with family

Very very basic bare bones hotel. Nice bar and deck area and indoor pool with great service. Continental breakfast isn't worth the effort. Friendly staff but the finishes of this property are very very cheap. This was a Country Inn. Good location for walking to shopping and restaurants.

Thank you for taking time to share your experience with us at The Lodge. Our new outdoor patio and outdoor bar have already been a favorite to stars and crews from several Hollywood Productions. Our latest addition was the indoor pub and dining area. Along with the routine upgrades we have scheduled for everything from furnishings to facilities it is no wonder our goal to be the Stay and Play Gem of the Pike's Peak region is quickly being realized under our new passionate owners.

Our free continental breakfast this summer will always include waffles, bagels, pastries, assorted granola and cereals, eggs, yogurt, fresh fruit, coffee, tea and condiments.

Our new dinner menu includes entrees, sandwiches, appetizers and pizzas.

The summer entertainment will include live music in the indoor pub six nights per week and live music on the patio on weekends.

It's summertime in the Rockies officially this week, and we're expecting everyday to be a summit experience for each and every guest. Join us next time your in the area for more...and more.

I have not personally stayed at the Country Lodge. They do have a very nice pool, great daily entertainment in the beautiful new bar, occasional live music on the amazing new patio, and good bar food. It couldn't have a better location either - close to Colorado Springs, Manitou, Cripple Creek and Buena Vista. Woodland Park is also a beautiful small town with a lot to do and see!

Thank you for your review. Let me assume your review was from enjoying our pub and patio as a local resident and perhaps from referring friends and family to the Woodland Country Lodge. Thanks for your patronage and kind words.

We have numerous locals who use our restaurant, pub and outdoor patio. It is common to find a local enjoying meeting a new friend as guests and locals come together around the fire pit or during entertainment provided 6 days per week.

Guests often comment on how the quality of their stay was made even better by a chance to enjoy activities without leaving the hotel campus, and by being able to talk to locals who know the "places to go".

Woodland Country Lodge boasts a family-oriented and fun environment that is both diverse and large enough to accommodate all of our guests needs while also serving the surrounding community with open arms. Meeting the needs of travelers and creating community seem to go hand in hand at the Country Lodge. Thank you for participating.

We found the Country Lodge to be clean, quiet and comfortable. Rooms were modern with no noise issues despite a 10-yr old baseball team staying at facility. Staff was both friendly and helpful. Spacious indoor pool with nice hot tub and good views. Outstanding deck area opens to entire back of lodge. Outside bar with overhead heating made for enjoyable Summer evening. Pub had live music and friendly bartender. Big drawback was the food and the drinks. Cheeseburgers were very good but the entrees (chicken salmon, steak) were served on plastic plates and were not worth the money. They were cooked on an outdoor BBQ on the patio and food was cold when received. Entrees were way overpriced for what one received. Mixed drinks were expensive and served in plastic cups. Deluxe continental breakfast was very plain, nothing exceptional. Bottom line: Stay here but eat and drink elsewhere.

Thank you for taking time to share your experience, concerns and compliments. We're proud of our new outdoor patio and bar. It has already proven to be a great way to share the Pike's Peak views and surrounding beauty without the hum of cars and away from the busy world.

Due to the pool and the indoor pub and restaurant being both connected to our large outdoor patio we chose to use only plastic-ware to prevent any glass breakage. The freedom our guests enjoy to move about the hotel is a good reason to use high quality disposable ware for beverages and for food.

Our menu includes a range of prices from $4.00-14.00 and includes salmon, steak, burgers, chicken, appetizers (wings, meatballs, tomato bagel with fresh mozzarella and basil, chips and salsa and more.

Our new outdoor grill set-up will allow us to serve more guests expeditiously.

We were passing through and arrived late afternoon and decided to find a place to stay. This is the only motel in Woodland Park, so this is the best place to stay. Seriously it's not a bad place. Some reviewers complained of noise from the bar, but we stayed on a Sunday evening and didn't notice any noise at all except in the hotel lobby, The room was clean and had all the usual amenities, and we had no problems.

The hotel provides a free breakfast but we left very early and didn't take advantage of the food. Everything was fine. The view out the back of the hotel is a dirt bank, but the front side does have a nice view of the mountains. All in all, a nice place to stay and we would return here again.

My room was on the second floor & there's no elevator. Whew. The bedding/beds are very comfortable. The towels are quite nice. There's a small bar & restaurant at the hotel, and there are several restaurants nearby. The indoor pool & spa are centrally located. There are a couple of good areas upstairs & down, where you can sit & have a good conversation or read a book. The patio has lots of potential & there's a fire pit for those cool nights. The service is spotty. I asked for a local map when I checked in & the front desk ladies didn't have a clue. I found 2 of them - one was in the hotel information book & one in the stash of tourist pamphlets in the lobby. I asked for things to do & they stated there wasn't much to do in Woodland Park. Really? My room had a microwave & refrigerator available, and there's a newer flat screen TV.

Thank you for your review and for taking time to share your experience. Your specific request was the impetus for improving our guest services understanding of the many opportunities available for recreation and entertainment in this area. A local hiking guide is available at the front desk and we have prompted our vendor to add more coupons and/or flyers in our information booth. Indeed, Woodland Park is a great base camp for doing many things in the Pike;s Peak region and most of our vacationing guests return because they can't get it all done in one trip.

Hiking, horseback riding, climbing, rafting, cog railways, Pike''s Peak highway, shopping, dining and entertainment are all 5-75 minutes away.

Thanks again and we hope to see you again soon.

I'll start with a positive. This hotel is located in a beautiful location. That's all the positive I have. It seems to cater to the adult crowd with the bar and outside patio. If you need to stay here due to location and have time to plan, try to stay in a room as far away from the patio as possible in an upstairs room. We were downstairs and the noise was too much for us to sleep until around midnight. We are from eastern time zone and tried to sleep earlier in the evening than most (around 9PM Mountain, 11PM Eastern). The hotel itself is average for a young family experience. The bar and patio could be considered above average if you are in to that sort of thing. I would have rated it average, but there was a service problem. My family planned on eating sort of a picnic on the outside patio when it started to rain. We moved our stuff inside in the breakfast nook. We were asked to leave the breakfast nook because there was going to be a party in the nook at 5:00 PM. There was no sign on the door stating that there was to be a party at 5:00. I told the hotel attendant "I understand" and we will be out of the nook before 5:00. At about 9 minutes 'til 5 she returned and told us again, in a rude tone. She was not willing to accommodate us at all. We have a special needs family member and that's why we were eating at the hotel to begin with. To the hotel management, I would suggest you train your staff to accommodate your guests rather than treat them as a nuisance. Maybe they could have offered to move some chairs and a table somewhere for us. We moved out into the lobby and sat at a high table with some stools. We were finished eating at 5:05 and the party didn't arrive until sometime after we had already cleaned up our stuff and left the lobby.

Room Tip: If you want to sleep early (before midnight Mountain Time), try to get a room on the upper floor as...

Thanks for taking time to share your concerns and observations with us here at The Lodge as well as with our Trip Advisor community.

On behalf of the entire staff, I want to offer our apologies for the inconvenience you encountered. We close our breakfast room after the free continental breakfast and then re-open it to reserved parties and meetings other times during the day. While we want to make sure we honor our commitments to the reservation party, we always welcome guests into the indoor restaurant and pub when the afternoon showers decide to chase folks indoor at times.

Our lobby is also available along with the pool area for kids. The reason we allow no glass anywhere in the restaurant/patio/pub is to insure the safety of people using the pool and the accompanying outdoor patio.

If someone did not properly see and understand your situation, I personally apologize for that and ask that next time you please ask a guest relations person, server or bartender for help in relocating. I also hope you found time to make it back out to the patio to enjoy the peak views.
