Prepare to stock up at this true bakery, that also sports pastry, pie and some cheese. Still, bread is the thing, and you can even get genuine sourdough from a homemade starter. We have been stopping here for years when we get to the area. It's almost as good as the stuff we bake. Folks, this is the real deal.

Too bad because this place could be home. All breads are excellent, fresh baked on the premises and high quality. We particularly like the sour-dough flax bread. We weekend nearby and keep this in our freezer both here and in the city. They also have excellent pastries, fruit and cheese cakes and other baked goods as well as a nice selection of cheeses. We have been customers since they operated out of the back of a station wagon in someone else's parking lot and we do not buy bread any other place. Always friendly and helpful.

Hot, right out of the oven. I have to keep a supply of the holiday bread (sour cherries, pecans in a heavy, sour dough whole wheat) sliced and frozen -- and ready to pop in the toaster for breakfast. Good with our without butter. We also love the rye, the challah, the peasant and semolina breads.

This is the 'go to' place for specialty breads for almost 20 years! We had a friend introduce us to this merchant way back then and have been fans ever since. We especially love the Multi-Grain and our guests always request it as a bread with any meal we serve. A bit pricey for bread but even though I can make my own bread, this is far superior to anything out of my oven. Nobody will be disappointed I'm sure.
