Wow! This place is paradise. When we first arrived we were greeted by friendly staff and taken to our room. Ocean villa right at the the front! I have never seen such a big enticing bed. The room was immaculate and the outside bathroom/shower is something out of a movie. The resort is stunning with its beautiful rainforest feel with palm trees and fabulous pool which is kept very clean. You are provided with bottle water everyday and also a choice of the most delicious breakfast options with complimentary everything. My partner would eat a lot and they loved feeding him as much as he would like. We ate all our meals here as they did room service and a very reasonable rate or by the pool if you wish "no worries". The staff can not do enough for you and are always so gracious. We also had a wonderful massage in the spa villa that was around $25 for an hour (which they went over). The only few negatives is the location. Lombok itself does not have much to offer. I would recommend coming here if you are after a complete relaxing holiday like we were after tackling Singapore. It is around 1/1.5hr drive from the airport depending on traffic. There is a rooster that believes it is time to start the day from 3am onwards, if you are a light sleeper beware. All in all I can not fault the quality of this resort, it has to be the most beautiful place I have ever stayed with the kindest most caring staff.

Dear Emzarrr,
thank you very much for your comment, I am happy to hear that you had a great time with us and I will give your positive feedback to our team! Yes as you mentioned Lombok is a place to relax and recharge your batteries! Please contact next time our reception staff for tours to waterfalls or traditional villages in the south! There is some touristic attraction that you should not miss, but as you say THE CHANDI is a place to relax, read a book and enjoy massages. The traffic in Senggigi area can be sometimes a problem, you are right. We are working on soundproofing solutions for our villas to ensure also light sleeper a very deep sleep. Please visit us next time to experience the difference. I want to thank you for your time to write this comment and hope we can welcome you back as soon as possible!

Really loved this place! Beautiful villa looking out onto the immaculate grounds, pool then ocean. The food was excellent and the staff so friendly and helpful. While waiting for our pickup to gili they even brought us cold towels and bottles of water! When you get better service than you can possibly expect it leaves a lasting impression. Would come back in a heartbeat.

Stayed at the chandi for around a week in ocean view villa and we were treated like royalty.

The tropical grounds were immaculate with palm trees dotted throughout resort and amazing views of the ocean. The pool and poolside seats provide a fantastic place to relax.

The chandi restaurant catered for a wide range of fine dining options and were extremely accommodating of all sorts of food allergies and special requests. The service was always very quick, professional and polite. The seafood grill night was one of our favorites. The food was very reasonably priced. Breakfast was included in the room cost and we ate basically all lunches and dinners there along with all drinks for under $500.00 aud for the 6nights.

The rooms themselves or villas we amazing very spacious, king size beds, beautiful semi outdoor bathrooms with private fully outdoor shower, day bed with ocean and pool views at the front of each villa.

Spa treatments were very cheap. You could choose to have a 1 hour massage in the pool hut near the beach or the room in their spa Centre for around $21.00 aud.

The resort itself being quite small 16 villas in total never seemed busy, nothing was to much trouble for the staff, it was beautiful place to relax and unwind.

Whilst there isn't a whole lot to do in sengiggi it was a good central place to stay, Mataram city wasn't far by taxi and Bangsal and Sengiggi harbors provide a very easy commute to the beautiful gili islands.

Would not hesitate to stay here again :)

my wife and I stayed at the Chandi for 5 nights in March 2014 and the place and staff were fantastic. Unfortunately we had a problem with management as they messed up our booking and then wanted to charge a huge amount for converting our bill to Rupiah. We got no help from management which let us extremely disappointed.

Room Tip: Oceanview villas are so much better and not a lot more expensive.

Dear Chezzaglenn,
thank you very much for your review and you good words about the staff. I happy to hear that you had a good stay with us. I would like to say some word about your booking and the arrangements that we organized for you. I had a deep look in your case and I read all of the ca.10 emails that you exchanged with our Reservation Team before you arrived. Yes you extended one night, this was confirmed by one of our staff in August 2013 but he did not reserve the room for you in April you are right. To give you a solution we book you a room in our partner hotel for one night. After we received some cancellations for the period of your stay, we could accommodate you for the requested extension night and you confirmed that to us also on arrival. Than you requested another extension night and we were full, but we book you a room in our partner hotel again. Three days before your final check out date our Operation Manager Mr. Wire had a chat with you on the pool. He explained to you that the price for the nights that you booked in the website, is not including your extension night. Also you were wondering about, that the price ins in USD and not in AUD, but the Voucher mentioned the price very clear in USD. Finally you decided to check out two days earlier and cancel your booking in our partner hotel. We did not charge any penalty for that while the company policy says that actually very clear. Our Manager Mr. Wire spend a lot of time with you to explain everything, that’s why I am a confused about your comment that the management didn’t take care enough of you!?
For your remark about the payment and conversion in IDR it is usual that, if you pay with Credit card the amount will always be charged in the currency of the country, but you can also pay cash in USD to avoid any differences.
I believe we did the maximum to make your stay amazing, as I mentioned we did not charge any penalty to while you were checking out 2 days earlier and released the booking in our partner hotel. I just want to make clear that our Management always take care of our costumers and I know that Mr. Wire spend a lot of time explaining the case to you.
Thank you for staying with us !

What a very pleasant surprise the Chandi was...
Reading through the previous 5 reviews I cant really add much more.
They all give a true and accurate reflection of the Chandi ( pictures too )
For my part ...things I would like to add and say ...
I cant compliment the staff enough.
Always willing to help with smile ...courteous... polite..
Check-in was efficient...
Chalets were spacious and comfortable...Beds suited us for firmness ( but that's a personal thing )
Clean ...tidy...pretty much everything you need in them.
Breakfast literally 'on the beach' was more than adequate ...
We lunched there all week. I really cant complain about the food choices and prices.
Tasted ok too ....especially ashed down with a cool beer while watching the waves lap on the beach !
When we went there were always sunbeds available...however some stupid people still ruin it by having this insatiable urge to have to claim a bed at 7 a.m with a towel. But apart from those people it was never a problem here. They soon realised how silly they looked. Guests all seemed to be chilled...relaxed..enjoying the peace and quiet. No rowdy youngsters or rude Russians.
Beach is not Kid friendly unfortunately ...sea is beautiful ...but does have rocks...urchins and coarse seaweed. Not pleasant for paddling...but ok for snorkeling.
Beach is long and bending ..great for walks...nothing else around except locals ...
Sengigigi town is literally 5 mins down the road...taxi available at reception..and will cost IDR 15 000 ( cheap cheap cheap ) to take you into town.
The town has a handful of recommended restaurants and that's it ...the rest are local eateries.
Favorite seems to be the Square..
There one or 2 bars that everyone tends to congregate to ...come 1 a.m...it's a wrap...
I personally cant compliment the Chandi more for a most relaxing and peaceful 5 day break.
However...be aware of the Mosque at 5 a.m calling for prayer,,,and the local cockerels. It really isn't offensive at all...however definitely take some earplugs if you are a light sleeper...
I will be a frequent visitor to both the Chandi and Lombok,.,,
Fact...if you go...you will not be disappointed ...so just book it !

Room Tip: all chalets are pretty much the same ... no need to pay extra for sea view..

This is a beautiful hotel. We had an ocean view room and it is just divine. We can not fault the resort but what really puts this hotel above all the other hotels we have stayed at are the staff. It was a bit surreal initially as every time we thought we needed something a staff member would appear to respond to our request. We do not usually eat at the hotels we stay at but the Chandi was different, the meals are superb. The BBQ on Saturday was wonderful. Our compliments to Ayu and her staff in the restaurant and bar area. As previously said it is a little way out of Senggigi but the taxi fare of less than $1.50 so really makes no difference and you are away from the town. We will be back.

Room Tip: Do not hesitate to stay at this resort. heaven on earth

Stayed here for 5 nights in march -14. First off, the resort is nice and good value for money. There is a relaxed and laid back atmosphere at the hotel which is nice as the bustle of senggiggi is just a 10 min taxi ride away. If your thinking about taking a hotel closer to senggiggi then dont. The taxis are supercheap (1 $ us from the hotel to senggiggi central) and the reception will get you one in no time.

We had a ocean view room but it really didn't have a good ocean view. If you like hanging out at the bungalows porch then an ocean view room is worth it, otherwise i wouldn't bother paying the extra.

The hotel area is clean and very nice, the pool is great and has enough loungers for all the quests. The hotel beach is not too good. Mainly because the bottom of the sea is covered with rocks and some sort of algae that felt kinda gross. So swimming in the sea infront of the hotel was a no-go. There are some hawkers hanging out in front of the hotel and they can be a bit of a nuisance. I believe the hotel has somesort of a deal with them since i saw hotel staff chatting with the hawkers from time to time. The hotel restaurant is ok for lunch and breakfast, for dinner i think it's a bit overpriced.

BTW the call to prayer from a nearby(?) mosque woke us up every night at 5am so bring your earplugs!

Room Tip: Take a oceanview room if you can like to hang out at the bungalow porch. The ocean view rooms are al...
