This was our first visit to Hanami II. What took us so long? In the midst of torrential rains today, we arrived to find an empty restaurant and decided against sushi on that basis. We won't make that mistake again! I had the lunch special of unagi on a bowl of rice, a favorite of mine, and it was the best I've ever had. A single large piece of eel cros cut to assure perfect cooking. It was accompanied by a lovely miso soup (for once, a miso that was not salt driven! Thank you.) And the delightfully fresh salad of high quality greens with "everybody's favorite Japanese dressing" set a new high bar! Fabulous! The Bento box with shrimp teriyaki was perfectly prepared and the accompanying spring roll, shumai, and dumpling were prepared so well, it was as if they were intended to be the main dish! We will definitely be back! Next time I'll try more of my test dishes: salmon skin roll, age dashi tofu, and beef negamayaki (sp?) . . . And of course lots of sashimi! Do it!
