a beautiful park. designed by Frederick Law Olmstead - the designer of Central Park. Great beach, view, and field. Has a skateboard park that is good but monitored so there are too many bikes being use don the skateboard park. Would be better if the City took better care of the park overall.....

Having been to many beaches among which include those in the Caribbean, Mexico, Gulf of Mexico and both Atlantic and Pacific Coasts, I consider Seaside Park in Bridgeport Connecticut one of the best beaches. The beach is has gentle waves making it easy for swimming and safe for children. There are numerous ball fields and picnic areas. There 2 small playgound areas for the kids. There is roughly i mile of continous sandy beach and almost 3 miles of seawall along which to walk or jog. One can fish in the non-beach sections of Seaside Park. There is also abandoned lighthouse on Faywerweather Island that can be reached by walking a rocky breaker leading to the Island. Seaside Park was created by Olmsted who designed Central Park in NYC and several parks in Europe. P.T. Barnum donated most of the land for the creation of Seaside Park.

Seaside Park is such a wonderful place any time of the year! Most people flock to the beaches on hot summer days, but the park is a great place in any season. With the temperatures dropping you can enjoy a brisk walk along the shoreline or just sit in your car and daydream out over the waterfront.

Great location. People in the surrounding communities find it a sport to down rate Bridgeport but the truth is that this is one of the best beach locations in the Northeast East. Don't listen to the naysayers visit it yourself. When people do, they find it to be one on the nicest locations in Connecticut.

As improvements continues, like restaurants, diverse outdoor concerts, entertainment and perhaps hotels, it will only get better.
