“Great spot, great staff”
Reviewed 19 July 2013

The observatory is the oldest of its kind in the Southern hemisphere, the exhibits are good, and the staff is both knowledgeable and welcoming. They're also very flexible: the night I visited was partly cloudy - it even rained for a short while! - and the staff had to fall back on showing us other objects than the ones planned. Overall, thoroughly recommended!

“Perched on the Hill, A Fantastic Building”
Reviewed 11 September 2012

The Old Observatory is open for public tours on occasions but National Trust members can get in most times to check the place out. Home of the National Trust administration the Observatory has been well conserved, is excellent in its presentation and remains a heritage icon for Perth.
