“Knowledgable and Welcoming”
Reviewed 11 June 2014

Elaine and Leo obviously enjoy welcoming and hosting their guests and even their guest's aquantances. This B&B captures their labor-of-love with well-appointed comfortable but uncluttered New England ambience throughout their quiet B&B and its grounds. Their local knowledge and information about nearby attractions and restaurants adds to the quality of stay by all who seek advice. Access to early morning coffee and tea as well as an excellent breakfast in a cozy dinning room provide wonderful opportunities to trade stories with them and fellow travellers - all good grist for curious travellers. Deep River's streetscape has been upgraded to provide safe walking to some of the town's historical buildings, shops, and dinning.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back are quiet a overlook pleasant grounds

Innkeepers Elaine and Leo Klevens welcomed us with open arms and were fabulous hosts. The inn offers incredible comfort and the colonial style and history that truly made our stay unique. We stayed in the Hearts and Flowers room and could not have been happier. The guest lounge downstairs boasts a huge wood fireplace that lit up the room making it warm and relaxing. Hot tea and coffee were always available and Leo made sure fresh juice flowed every morning. I highly recommend The Riverwind Inn not only for people staying in the area but for a beautiful getaway. The Riverwind is perfect for families, couples, friends, or individuals looking to relax and perhaps make some new friends.

On the main road, this inn is very convenient for the main town street and easy to find although we did not notice any traffic noise or inconvenience. Elaine and Leo are lovely hosts and their Inn is very welcoming and comfortable. There are a couple of guest lounges with tea and coffee making facilities available. Breakfast was all freshly cooked and delicious. We had the Willow room at the back of the house with a private porch / balcony and view of the garden. It was a treat to see hummingbirds at the feeders on the window in the morning. Would definitely recommend for people who were staying in the area. Also very convenient for visiting the nearby town of Essex.

Room Tip: the willow room was quiet and on the ground floor. Very pleasant

Booked a room for our travels up through to Maine. After a ride on the Essex train and boat ride arrived at the B&B to check in.Pulling into driveway, the house looked awesome. After being greeted at the door by Leo and Elaine, they gave us a tour and showed us to our room.Downstairs there is a sitting area and upstairs are two sitting areas with a fireplace and small guest refrigerator and one of those small coffee tea makers.Coffee and tea was available in the morning before breakfast. At breakfast we were served the option of several types of juices, than a fruit cup was brought out and than the main course, egg with canadian bacon, and salsa and a wonderful tasting muffin. We will recommend anyone to stay here. Our room was cozy and comfy, the house decor was awesome and the owners know alot about the area. Our room was on second floor and in the front by the road,we heard no traffic and we slept very well.

We stayed at the Riverwind Inn a few weekends ago. We had a wonderful stay. The house is beautifully decorated and the room was perfect. Leo and Elaine were very friendly and even changed the breakfast for me due to some dietary restrictions that I have. Would definitely return if in the area again!

B&B's can seem the same, especially upon arrival. But our welcome by Leo and Elaine was so warm and friendly that we knew this was a great place to stay. We had just come a previous B&B experience with poor service and Leo and Elaine showed how B&B's should be managed. They welcomed us and got us settled in. They asked if we wanted dinner suggestions. They made several good suggestions and when we made a choice, Elaine called the restaurant and made the reservations. We felt like we were their total focus as their guests. It started a wonderful overnight stay.
Zelda's room is nice. Spacious and comfortable. The attached sitting room is very convenient.
There was little traffic noise from the main road.
The breakfast was excellent.
The neighborhood is delightful.
We would stay here again.
